After a very successful first year the C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series is set to kick off its second season and the competition is expected to be even tougher than last year!

The C.A.R.S. WRS 2007 Points Chase is set to begin this Friday, March 30 at the famed Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, KY. Paducah International Raceway is a lightning fast high-banked 3/8 mile oval that produces some of the most exciting racing action around.

On Saturday, March 31 C.A.R.S. WRS teams can compete for points towards the championship at either the Mt.Vernon Raceway located in Mt.Vernon , IL or the Macon Speedway located in Macon, IL.

Within two weeks all C.A.R.S. WRS Tracks will be open for the 2007 season and drivers will begin competing for points at different tracks of their choice across the region including; Paducah International Raceway, Tri-City Speedway, Fredericktown Raceway, Macon Speedway, Mt.Vernon Raceway, Lake Ozark Speedway, Soggy Bottom Raceway, Windy Hollow Speedway, Fayette County Speedway and the DuQuoin Magic Mile!

A ton of exposure was gained last year as the C.A.R.S. WRS campaigned throughout the Midwest, that exposure helped generate the interest of many racers and fans. Many new race cars were built during the off season and the car counts and competition is expected to be at a premium all year long! The C.A.R.S. WRS has proven that the Crate Late Model class can provide some of the most exciting, two and three wide racing around.

The C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series features economical engines produced by GM Performance and sealed at the factory to prevent tampering. There are two different engine combinations approved for competition in the C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series, the steel-head "602" engine that sells for around $3,000 and the aluminum-head "604" engine that sells for around $5,000. These engines are race-ready right out of the crate from the factory.
