Cache River Championship Night at PIR just days away

(Paducah, KY. 10/09/06) The flooding of two weeks ago has passed, an estimated 12½ million gallons of water has been pumped from the infield and it is time to crown the season champions at Paducah International Raceway.

Friday’s Cache River Championship night races presented by Cheers Bar and Grill will be the first for stock cars since the torrential rains and flooding of September. Several tight point battles remain in all six divisions with the drivers jockeying for position the racing should be door to door and nose to tail.

Race fans coming to the track will have the opportunity to win a trip courtesy of PIR. PIR will also remember our armed forces servicemen and women by collecting DVD’s to send to the troops overseas. Operation DVD will collect new and used DVD’s to be sent to Iraq so our soldiers can enjoy safe entertainment during their tour of duty.

On the racetrack, drivers that have won a C-Plant Federal Credit union Dash for Cash throughout the year will participate in the final C-Plant Federal Credit Union Dash for Cash.

Paducah International Raceway will conclude its racing season on Friday October 20th with a spooktacular night of racing. A Halloween costume contest will be held for kids and adults with prizes to be awarded. The pit gates will open at 4 pm and the grandstands at 5 pm with racing starting at 7:30 pm. A pre-race party with Mr. Ed and The Horsepower Racing Network will kick off both nights of racing. Tickets are $10 for Adults and Kids 12 and under are Free.

NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt Jr, Ken Schrader and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Paducah International Raceway in November of 2005. Two-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart joined the tri of Co-Owners as a partner in September of 2006. The 3/8th mile high banked oval will host several high profile events including three NASCAR Nights, The USA World 50, and the Tri-Track Challenge. Paducah International Raceway races every Friday night and is located of Interstate-24 at exit 11 in Paducah, Kentucky.
