Car stolen at Gateway last night.

A friends car was stolen at Gateway last night while he was watching the drags.

Missing is his 92' Chevy Camaro 25th Edition RS
with Corvette Rally wheels, Has fiberglass hood w/ 6 inch hood scoop. Dark turquois/emerald green in color.

They got to the track around 7:30 and got ready to leave a little after 11, only to find his car missing. People close to their parking spot thought the guy taking it was a REPO man..... but the car is/was paid for. 2 guys in a white pick up pulled up one got out , used a jimmy to get the door open and hot wired it and took off. Today Gateway is going to reivew security tapes to see what they can find out.

I told my friend not to hold his breathe because by now it is in someone garage in a million peices.

Gateway has reviewed the parking lot security tapes! It seems the Camaro that was stolen...

WAS NOT taken out the front gate, when it was stolen. This is very disturbing....IT was taken into the PIT AREA.

Probably into an enclosed trailer or onto a trailer. So now they are reviewing the pit area security tapes.... this is very sad to think this is going on by someone who races.

IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO RACE THEN PARK IT.

Not necessarily; there's a back way out of the place, east of the strip going south. You can see it on Google Earth; we used to use it when NHRA was in town to avoid all the traffic.

That back way out is usually locked up, unless their is a big race going on. They use it for handicapped parking, they shuttle people to and from the track. They brought a empty trailer and put the car in it? Then left. Sneaky bastards.
