Garrett Britton has been suspended from racing activities for one week beginning 07/06/07 and fined $100 for unsportsmanlike conduct off the track.

James Burrell has been place on probation for six weeks effective 07/06/07 as well.

We ask that other members please take note and conduct yourself accordingly.

Lets just hope that the punishment from here on out will be fair and apply to everyone because it hasn't in the past. Also it would be nice if they would inform you that you are banned before Thursday evening. Hoepfully there will be no more trouble from here on out

When you put statements on the forum you should explain why you put racers on probation or suspend them.

But I really think you should just contact the racers yourself and not put it on the forums. JMO

We spoke to both before posting.

Britton-pushing another racer during an argument in the pits.

Burrell-entered another drivers pits area which initiated the dispute.

ANY physical altercations of any kind will result in a suspension. We do not want these things to escalate into situations where someone gets hurt.

We post to make tracks aware and to deter future events from happening.

I believe that there should be punishment for a racer entering another person pits with the intent of causing trouble, whether it be me or someone else from here on out. Then we would not have to worry about having any fighting or pushing. Also if you are gonna suspend one racer for pushing another then the same should be for the other. Thats only fair.

Also i didn't know that disciplinary actions were gonna be posted. This is is the first time i have ever seen this and i know we are not the first ones to get in trouble. If both of us were contacted than this thread was pointless but on the other hand everyone needs to know what happened and the actions that were taken.

UMP posts all their punitive action on their website.. So does most other sanctioning bodies.

I have to kind of agree with Britton. Yes he was involved in a physical contact. But entering someone elses pits to not talk chit chat kind of deserves the same punishment because that is exactly what leads to physical contacts. That is like saying..its ok to go around the pits shooting your mouth off and starting the fight. All you will get is a probation(which..year is already !/2 over with). But if you lay a hand on someone else you get suspended. I dont really agree with airing peoples dirty laundry on a public forum(yes..UMP does the same). Seems best this kept between all parties involved and carry on everyone else.

cars should have the same rules for altercations regardless of who the person is and they should announce them at the beginning of the year and I myself should think it should be a year supension regardless , that would stop any problems regardless of how mad you get if you know you are going to be banned for a year at the time it is done now just at the end of year this is my opinion and if james burrell went into someone leses pit regardless of punches thrown or not should have the same punishment as the other that threw punches same issue an altercation is an altercation regardless

Just be happy that it was only a $100 fine. Brian McKormick and Nick Lyons both got $500 fines earlier this year and Brian didn't throw a punch or push anyone. It was also posted on here too, so you are not the first this has happened too. I also think that if they would take control of the demolition derby on the track by black flagging the rough drivers there wouldn't be any fighting in the pits, so if the officials would do their jobs the drivers wouldn't have to take care of it themselves. Why isn't the punishment the same for every driver???? Seems kindof funny to me. C.A.R.S needs to get a grip.!! It will be a shame to see this sanction go down the drain because of fighting and cheating.

I try to ignore these kind of posts but I have to respond.

First off Brian McCormick was not fined $500, he was fined $100 and it was by Tri-City Speedway not C.A.R.S.!

You must have missed the memo stating that the C.A.R.S. Officials do not make the calls on the track, that is left up to the track officials!

As for the fighting & rough driving, I recall seeing a red #49 take out a car on purpose at Jefferson County Raceway because he felt he was rubbed the wrong way! I also seen the crew scream & hollar in the pits while holding a jack handle, so please don't point fingers because a few are pointing back at you when you do.

Can you tell me who was caught cheating?

If you don't like the C.A.R.S. Series that is fine, but please don't just make stuff up because you have nothing better to do!

As i recall it for the 49 car car at jefferson. I think two people came to your pits and your wife had the jack handle while you stood behing the car. haha what a man. And as for you having a problem with sean and CArs , then dont race anymore. Im sure fasttrack would love to have you

First of all I was the only one who was aware of the claim. Sean, Rick Heck and the rest of the world were unaware until I told them at the track.

Secondly, the motor was not recently purchased from Weir. We checked the serial number with GM performance and know when the motor was purchased.

Please stop slamming us on the internet and call us if you have any questions.

Thanks Al Kreke and Sean Franklin
