Warrensburg’s Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) roars back into action this Saturday evening for Heartland Waste and Central Auto Racing Boosters (C.A.R.B.) race night along with Boy Scout Troop #138 at the CMS-Kenny’s Tile sponsored track. C.A.R.B. is a fan-supported racing organization in the greater Kansas City area that was created to promote interest in and understanding of the sport of auto racing. The club is now in its 56th year of existence! One of the main focuses of C.A.R.B. is to take care of both fans and drivers. Specially selected drivers in each racing division will receive a Larry Kaster Driver Appreciation Award from C.A.R.B. during intermission time. All C.A.R.B. members will receive free grandstand admission at the track by just showing their current membership card at the gates. Drivers will also receive an additional $15 for making the A feature in each of the four divisions, if they are a C.A.R.B. member.

All four racing divisions will be back on the track as we start a mid-season run toward the season track championships in September. There are close battles in each division with Jon Binning of Warrensburg heading the ULMA Late Model race for the points. Independence driver, Scotty Martin is on top in the B-Modified division with Herb Danner of Holden leading the Street Stock class and Aaron Marrant of Orrick in front of a heated battle for the Modified crown.

This weekend the show will include the complete four-class program with the “mighty” Modifieds, the ULMA Late Models, Street Stocks and B-Modifieds competing in qualifying heat races and feature events. CMS will be back on a regular schedule this week with pit gates opening at 4:30, admission gates open at 5, hot laps starting at 7 and the first heat races starting at 7:30.

In two weeks Rib Crib will sponsor the annual Battle of the B-Mods at the CMS high banks. B-Modified drivers are reminded they will have to race at least twice at CMS in this division to avoid paying the entry fee for the July 26, $600 to win special feature at CMS.

For current and up-to-the-minute racing information check back with the track report line or visit us online at centralmissourispeedway.net for race results, photos by John Lee of High Fly’n Photos and the latest track news. The Track Report Line is also another way to stay current on racing events going on at CMS and can be reached by dialing (660) 747-2166. The track is easy to find and is located just off of Hwy 13 four miles north of Warrensburg from the intersection of Highways 13 and 50 or twelve miles south of the Interstate 70 exit at Higginsville. See you this Saturday night at the Burg!
