Central Missouri Speedway KOKO Radio Car Show and Preseason Practices

(Warrensburg, MO) The CMS race season kicks off this year with the first of three practice sessions taking place on Saturday, April 5th. Gates open at 11 with practice starting at noon and fans can attend for free. CMS and KOKO radio will then offer an opportunity for race fans to meet some of their favorite drivers on Saturday, April 12th, from 10 to 12. Fans can see their favorite cars in the CMS parking area next to Highway 13 and courtesy of KOKO Radio; receive free hotdogs along with a chance to vote on your favorite cars. All drivers from the area are encouraged to attend and special awards will be presented for the fan’s favorites in each class. A track practice session will occur immediately after the car show. The final preseason practice session will be held the evening of Saturday, April 19th with gates opening at 5PM.

The official start of the 2008 championship season takes place on Saturday, April 26th with pit gates opening at 4:30 and racing getting underway at 7PM. ‘Mighty’ Modifieds, ULMA Late Models, Street Stocks and B-Modifieds will compete on a weekly basis with two appearances by the MSCS wingless 305 Sprint cars. There are 20 regular weekly racing nights planned for the year as well as three modified special races to coincide with Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day weekends. There will also be specials for the ULMA Late Models, Street Stocks and B-Modifieds. Entries are already being taken for the big Tom Wilson, Fourth of July Weekend $5,000-to-Win Modifed race, which is sure to draw one of the largest expected car counts of any race in the entire area later this summer. CMS will be the place to be for your Saturday night family entertainment in 2008

As a prelude to another exciting season of dirt track racing, Earl Walls opens the CMS Racinboys Kenny’s Tile internet webcast show on Thursday, April 3 beginning at 7pm. Track announcers, Sam Stoecklin and Alan Miller will be on the airways for the weekly KOKO-1450 radio CMS Track Talk show which starts on April 9 at 530 PM.
