(Warrensburg) Another exciting evening of competitive racing at Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) is now in the books as a large crowd of fans in the stands and drivers were on hand for Kids’ Night and the $1,000-to-win Limited Late Model 25-lap feature. A total of 88 cars registered to race including 12 B-modifieds, 22 Limited Late Models, 24 Street Stocks and 30 Modifieds, competing in a total of 16 races.
With his eighth feature victory of the season, Smithville’s Brett Rollert continued his domination of the Limited Late Models and rolled to the riches in the $1,000-to-Win 25-lap featured event. There was a large field of limiteds on hand for the big-money win but it didn’t matter as once again Rollert was not to be denied and won going away from the field. Jason Estes looked to have the car to beat early on in the race until his bad luck streak at CMS continued with steering problems this time taking him out of competition. There were two cars that did not pass post-race technical inspection leading to their disqualification from the finishing order. Look for another full field of cars next week as the point’s battle for the championship continues next week.

In the modified division the racing action was fierce again as 30 racers were on hand to compete in four heat races and the 20-lap feature race. Lee Hibner of Chillicothe brought the entire field to the green flag and quickly shot to the lead ahead of Aaron Marrant, Joe Bradshaw and Dennis Walrath. It looked as though Hibner might grab his third win of the year until an incident on the track caused him to re-start the race at the tail end of the field. Hibner’s misfortune was Aaron Marrant’s gain as he picked up the lead and never looked back taking his #70 Scott Racing, Full Throttle Raceworks to victory lane for his third ‘mighty’ modified victory of the year. To add to Marrant’s excitement, word quickly came from the pit area that his wife had gone into labor as the couple had to quickly leave for the hospital. In victory lane, an emotional Marrant thanked his father for “putting every bit of money he didn’t have” into his recently repaired race car.

The Street Stocks continued their quest for the point’s championship competing in three heat races to determine the line-up for the 15-lap main event. Warrensburg natives James McMillin and Marc Carter led the large field of cars to the green and had an excellent battle up front for the lead for most of the race. In what appeared to be a win for McMillin at the checkered flag, it was later determined that his car did not pass post-race technical inspection and Carter was declared the winner. Jimmy Ngo takes his narrow points lead into next week as the rest of the field tries to close the gap.
