Challenge issued to Highland Sportsman Drivers

i was asked to post this by the owner of the 8E

to all the sportsman drivers that think they're being beat by a triple disc clutch. The owner of the 8E car is making an offer to all drivers to see who the coward is, any regular weekly driver that can beat the 8E will receive an additional $500 cash from the Car owner!!!

rules
-must have run 6 or more features this year to be eligible
-mechanical failure will not count
-if 8E ends up on infield, car can be teched for anything requested
-if 8E is beat the winner and 8E will be teched after the race

The offer is good for 3 Weeks

Why does this mean anything.the eliers have been cheating so none so there wins dnt mean anything. Make the car legal and then offer this.
 
out of 7 pages of posts on another thread I never seen where anyone said a certin name or #. makes one wonder....
 
wow this thread is ridiculous. so 8e is admitting they are not legal by the rules and if you can beat him they will pay $500? or are they now changing to be legal?
 
Banshee84, your challenge is interesting but why not make it for points for the rest of the year. Call it the 2nd Half Challenge and just add up everyone's points for July, August, and September. The main contenders can inspect each others cars as a group. If the promoter doesn't want to inspect cars and enforce rules then maybe the class leaders can. And maybe they can find a sponsor(s) to provide some cash prizes. You just might keep a few cars (and fans) from giving up on the season or going elsewhere. Isn't it worth a try?
 
Never said i thought i was getting beat by triple discs. Just wanted rules to be enforced. But i think that is worth my time if we have our night. Sorry Mt. Vernon, ive been to close at Highland of getting a W not to try this little offer, If its true.
 
Rules, you expect everyone else to respect your rules? This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. Had you went by the rules in the first place none of this would be happening. Rules, Come on

I don't see where any of the eilers need to prove anything Russell has a foot proven fact yes their family has money but if you want to win you have to spend money you can't drive a turd and expect to beat the top dog PERIOD you jus have to spend what you can and be better and alot of the money these guys have you say your getting beat by guess what they won most of iti didn't see Anywhere where it said hey look at me I'm cheating it says if you got what you say you got prove it and trust me even a blind idiot wouldn't say if you beat me you can tech me plus it says if Russell is on the infield you can pull what you want don't sound like cheating to me it just sounds like the gauntlet has been thrown down but anyway good luck to all the highland boys and to the Eilers boys
 
why does it matter if his family has money. if you have a S H I T box. then dont race or drop to a lower class. stop complaining.
 
A couple years back at a racing banquet Kenny Wallace said he got some really good advice when he was just getting started and if I remember right it was something Rusty told him. It was go race where the competition is the weakest, so you have the best chance at winning.

Now, both of those guys have done pretty well for themselves in racing, but it sure seemed to tell you a lot about their practical approach to it too.

Just some food for thought for all the guys having a hard time racing wherever they are racing.

Sorry, you lost me after the first 20 or so words. Is that really all one sentence? I mean I see the word period, but not the mark?
 
Is this going to bring Cummings back to Highland? It sounds to me that if the 8E was cheating (which I am not accusing him of doing), he now is not. And he says he will still beat anyone who comes to Highland. He must be pretty good to make that kind of offer.

I didn't know a Cummings raced at Highland. I know Cummins races there.
 
I have a question what is a triple disc clutch? What is the legal clutch? If a driver is using a triple disc clutch what advantage does it give the driver?
 
a triple disk usually runs on a flexplate(very light) instead of a flywheel, which can be very heavy. A triple disk also uses 3 frictions disks to transmit power, so you get a better clamp sending more power through the transmission.

Also, with less rotating mass on the drivetrain, the engine can rev quite a bit faster.
