The FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance concluded the 2019 season and the decade of racing at the 3/8th mile Screven Motor Sports Complex for a Saturday afternoon finale in efforts to beat widespread rain showers that we’re eminent to plague the area overnight. Seventeen machines signed in ready to compete in the daytime conditions for the 40 lap $3000 to win final A-Main Feature. When the event concluded it was 9 Ches Chester from Twin Cities, Georgia capturing his third career victory and sweeping the 20th Annual Georgia Outlaw State Championship.

The event would have 21x Bob Roberson and 9 Ches Chester side by side at the green with quickly Chester capturing the top position. The race was plagued by several cautions totaling nine for the 40 lap contest. The two climaxes of the event was after lap 21 when 18 Ben Faircloth got into the wall in turn two, on the restart 22 Nick Schlager hungry for his first career FASTRAK touring win slipped and jumped the restart, then 7a Corey Almond would spin backend into the dirt berm on the front stretch entering turn one. Race control deemed the 22 Schlager he jumped the line over leader 9 Chester penalizes Schlager 2 spots on the restart.

Then if that wasn’t enough the “BIG ONE” would ensue off turn involving seven cars badly damaged with threatening skies upon the horizon. During the massive clean-up efforts sprinkles began falling making people wonder if the race could reach it’s conclusion. The skies parted and the racing resumed with the 9 Chester leading, 01 Mark Whitener driving Travis Pennington’s machine though beating and battered would still be able to rally hard to the front to mount a charge, Schlager would try everything possible to try and get around Whitener. In doing so that allowed Chester to pull away from the two and capture the checkers for his 3rd win of the FASTRAK touring level and sweeps the 20th Annual Georgia State Outlaw Championship at Screven Motor Sports Complex to officially close the racing chapter on 2019.
