(Paducah, KY) Paducah International Raceway and Chevrolet have once again teamed up to give one race fan a new 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck in the Silverado Sunset promotion.

The Silverado Sunset promotion has qualified sixty race fans during the racing season at Paducah International Raceway to be a part of the huge finale this Friday September 7th, 2007. All sixty of the qualifiers will be at Paducah International Raceway in person or by proxy to select a key that will fit a padlock to a box that will hold the set of keys to the Cache River Chevrolet PIR Pace truck. One-by-one each of the qualifiers will select a key and then will try their key in the padlock on the box. The key that opens the padlock to the locked box will be the winner of a new 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup valued at nearly $40,000.

Popeye’s Fried Chicken of Paducah will be the sponsor for the racing events on Friday, as Paducah International Raceway will host Scout night and Union appreciation night.
Scout troops and new members from around the region have just completed one of the most enthusiastic membership drives in recent history. One lucky Scout will go for a ride around the high-banks of PIR in the 2-seat Late Model. A full night of racing action will take place with six divisions racing including the UMP Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks and 4-Cylinder Warriors. CARS Crate Late Models and Vintage Cars will also be racing. With just 4 races remaining on the schedule, point battles are tight as drivers try to jockey positions within the top 5 rankings. Darrell Hartman and Poncho Elder are separated by just six-points in the UMP Street Stock division. Jeff Houston has a fourteen-point lead over 2005 PIR Track Champion Jeff Elliott in the Modified division.

Paducah International Raceway is also preparing for the World Of Outlaw Late Models for the one and only appearance at the track in 2007 Friday September 14th. Steve Francis, Shannon Babb and Chub Frank are among the drivers expected to go door-to-door against our local drivers including Randy Sellars, John Tindal, Kevin Cole, Terry English, Dylan Thompson, Joe Mike and many more.

NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt Jr, Ken Schrader and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Paducah International Raceway in November of 2005. Two-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart joined the trio of Co-Owners as a partner in September of 2006. The 3/8th mile high banked oval will host several high profile events including three NASCAR Nights, The USA World 50, and the Tri-Track Challenge. Paducah International Raceway races every Friday night and is located off Interstate-24 at exit 11 in Paducah, Kentucky.
