Inside Line Promotions - WINCHESTER, Ind. (Sept. 6, 2018) - Mandy Chick produced a strong performance during the opening round of the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Chase for the Championship last Sunday at Winchester Speedway.

Chick unloaded for practice and was quick off the bat. She carried that speed through qualifying. Chick qualified eighth, but due to other competitors pulling out of line to make adjustments she was bumped up to start fifth.

"We were really fast right out of the gate," she said. "We were within half of a second of the fastest lap times and continued to improve. We were a little tight in qualifying, but we were able to qualify within the top 10 and even got to improve our starting position."

Chick took the green flag for the 100-lap feature from the inside of the third row. She maintained her position throughout the race before ending sixth, which marked her third top 10 of the season.

"The race went really, really well," she said. "We were able to keep the car in one piece and have a good run, which is something you're going to have to do if you want to stay in contention for the point championship. We've picked up a little more momentum with that good run to carry over to Lucas Oil Raceway in a couple of weeks."

Chick's sixth-place finish moved her up a position in the championship standings. She currently sits second in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour standings with two races remaining in the Chase for the Championship.

Chick's next race will be at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Ind., on Sept. 30.

Since Chick is locked into the Chase, she is also eligible for the 2018 CRA Most Popular Driver Award. Fans are able to vote for the most popular driver on Speed51.com once a day. Voting will end on Nov. 1. Votes for Chick can be cast at https://speed51.com/2018-most-popular-driver-cra-champion-racing-association/ .
