Inside Line Promotions - DE SOTO, Kan. (May 16, 2019) - Mandy Chick is looking to produce a great opening round of the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour season as the team makes the trip to Birch Run Speedway in Birch Run, Mich., this Saturday.
This marks Chick's second season competing full time with the series and second year of aiming to hunt down a championship. She finished fourth in the championship standings last year.
"It will be interesting to see how this weekend goes at Birch Run given that we were supposed to have a couple of races under our belt," she said. "The tour's season opener at Flat Rock was postponed due to weather and we tried to race a couple of different times, but just was never able to beat Mother Nature."
Chick had a strong run at Birch Run Speedway last year, but an on-track incident relegated her to a 12th-place finish.
"We've been to Birch Run twice so I'm going to look at my notes from last year and apply those going into this weekend," she said. "I have a good track record there, and we perform well there, but our finishes don't exactly show that yet. I'm looking to change that this weekend.
"Hopefully we can secure a good qualifying and finishing position this weekend. I think we're going to be really good. We've got some fresh notes going into this weekend from Butch with VanDoorn Racing Development. We have a fresh mindset and we're hungry for those wins and we're on the hunt for the championship."
