Tonight’s action was packed at Clarksville Speedway as twenty-one Late Model’s tried to claim their rights to the dirt clay oval. Late Model driver car #33 Randle Sweeney set fastest time at 13.756. Heat #1 leading every lap was car #K-1 David Miller. During Heat #2 car #16 Steven Ashby led every lap with only one caution. The Dash winner leading every lap was again Randle Sweeney. Feature race time was packed with action, as Randle Sweeney never even looked back.
During lap 5 three cars got together causing car #0 Fred Perry to be put in the rear. During lap 11 with Sweeney still in the lead and Gary Frost car #F14 running a very close second, car #27 Chuck Proctor and car #5 Chris Cook get together and spin out. Lap 12 car # 11B Darren Baxter spins out causing yet another caution. Taking the victory flag as tonight’s winner was Randle Sweeney.

Fastest time for Open Wheel Modified was car #99 our very own 2003 track champion David Flowers at 14.765. Field count was fourteen driver’s allowing only one Heat race. Car # X15 Clayton Miller lead the first three laps with car #93 Charles Zimmerman hot on his backside in lap 2.
During lap 3 Car #05 Floyd Clinard gets into the wall between turn 4 & 5 causing a caution. On the start of lap 3 Clayton Miller exits the track allowing Zimmerman to claim the checkered flag. During the Dash, David Flowers left them trailing in his dust! Lap 1 car #55 Michael Lee and car #43 Ricky Knight got together in turn 4, both were put in the back.
Lap 2 caution two, Lee and Knight again get together returning to the rear. Flowers claimed victory. Feature race time, Flowers lead the first three laps, while car #182 Randle Sweeney lead the rest. During lap 1 our gracious flagman William Scogin drops a coke can on the track causing our first caution. You know how those beginners can be. Floyd Clinard spins out during this little incident then goes to the rear. Lap
3 Flowers leads with Sweeney hot on his trail while car #10 Gerald Hodge, car #21 Daniels Bates and car #24T Gary Tatum all spin out, all going to the rear except Tatum, he exits the field. Lap 8 Bates spins out again leaving the track. Randle Sweeney runs away with the tonight’s purse.

Pro-Street race we had a field of thirteen cars. Fastest time was set by car #11L Larry Hamm at 15.173. Heat #1 leading the first two laps was car #55 Joey King. Taking the lead on the backstretch was car #33 Larry Barber Jr. During lap 4 King spins out in turn and is sent to the back allowing car #J1 to move up to second. Lap 8 car #T54 Jarod Stokes spins out in turn 4 and exits the track. Winning the heat was Larry Barber Jr.
The Dash was a clean race, leading every lap and winning the race was car #11L Larry Hamm. The Feature race leader started out as car #RC1 Brian Caudle. During lap 6 Joey King spins out and goes to the back. On the restart of lap 6 car #24 Jeff Joiner takes the lead. Lap 8 Jarod Stokes spins out twice causing a caution. On the last lap, Jeff Joiner and Larry Hamm battle it out for the checkered flag. Congratulations to the winner Larry Hamm.

Street Stock race started out with twenty-two cars. There was 3 heats.
Heat #1 was a caution free race. Leading every lap and winning was car
#87 2003 Track Champion Dale Phillips. Heat #2 during the first lap car #3M Donnie Rollins, #SS3 Ashley Morgan and #33 Phillip Kennedy collided at the green flag. All three drivers exited the field. Car #29 Timmy Wilson was hot on the bumper of leader car #57 Dale Doss until the last lap as Wilson spun out in turn 4 leaving car #7UP Dana Tidwell to place second behind winner Dale Doss. Street Heat #3 taking the lead was car
#34 Gary Tatum. Lap 6 car #7 Bird Dority looses a tire and over heated causing a caution. On the restart car #8 Matt Musser spins out in turn 4 and still continued to race. During the last lap car #39X Chad Cunningham hits car #8 causing Gary Tatum to flip his car. Luckily the driver’s were okay. Winning the race was Gary Tatum. Feature race time was very exciting as Dale Phillips lead the race. During Lap 4 car #45 Dorris McCord was hot on his tail when he spins out. Phillip Kennedy and car #D4 Sam Morgan collided. On the restart Dale Phillips continued to lead every lap until the last one, when car #H55 Ronnie Hedgepath made his move to victory.

The Mini Modified had a car count of eleven. During Heat #1 car #2 Stan Ferry starts off with the lead as car #15 Ronnie Richardson quickly takes over. During lap 3 car #55 Thomas Clinard spins out and keeps on going, never causing a caution. But, when lap 6 came around he wasn’t quit as lucky. Clinard and car #98 Thomas Johnson collided causing Johnson to flip his car. The angels were with us yet again as the driver was okay. Clinard was sent to the back. Winning the heat was Larry Hamm.
Heat #2 was a clean race as car #23 Charles Newberry lead every lap to victory. The Feature race was once again led by Charles Newberry. During lap 2 car #22 Billy Carter and car #28 Rick Champagne spin out. They both had to leave the track due to car troubles. Taking the checkered flag leading every lap was Ronnie Richardson.

The Pure Mini Stock class had five drivers with one heat race. This heat was a caution free race with several drivers leading. Car #77 Timothy Hunter lead the first two laps, when car #12 Christopher Perrigo took over the lead to make the win. The Feature race was again caution free.
Leading the first 4 laps was car #11 David Shepherd. During lap 4, Perrigo takes over the lead. During lap 10 Hunter and Perrigo battle it out for the win. Congratulations to Christopher Perrigo for his win.

Tonight was packed with plenty of extra curricular activities. We celebrated Mother’s Day giving out 300 of our lovely mothers a carnation flower. Children voted why their mother should be mother of the year.
Congratulations to our very own Mrs. Donna Ray she was voted mother of the year. Her children said they really appreciated their mother because she always brings them to the races. During intermission, the children had foot races on the track, with a winner for each age group. The winner’s picked out their favorite choice of ice cream. We have added a new attraction to the schedule. We now have a street stock car that everyone has a chance to drive during intermission. See our nightly flyer more information.

Next week May 15th we will celebrate Armed Forces Day. All active military families that have ID may enter the stands at ½ off. Sunday May 16th we will make up the rainout Dated May 1st. Gate will open at 2:00 Hot Laps at 3:00 and races start at 4:00. All classes.
