That is pretty cool... but its the "racing experience" for the fan.. it would be ideal for some with small kids or something but I don't think it would be as enjoyable.. jmo

Very Nice but i have to agree with Scott that it wouldn't be as enjoyable. The drivers couldnt hear the applause for winning and the wonderful trash talking also...LOL

This place is in the middle of nowhere. I have driven past it on I-70 on my way to Denver. Best of luck to them, they will need it.

The place ran in 2010 for a few races. I visited it back then. They also have a bunch of stands next to the enclosed. If the track was a better configuration then it might have worked. It's great to see they are making it a 3/8Mi. It's about as close to Denver as you can get, the damn environmentalists closed the old dirt track down almost 10 years ago. Closest dirt track is 90 miles from Denver. There was a good racing history in that town. Good article in the latest dirt latemodelmodel magazine of racing back in the early 80s. I'm planning on making a trip to go run there.

Buy it now! $800,000 no reasonable offer refused.

Built in 1971 as Byers Race Track for greyhound racing.

Last used as auto race track, now vacant.

Has it pick up a lease for racing again?

It would be ok I guess.but I just wouldn't feel like I was at a racetrack unless I could smell the fumes and taste the dirt in my teeth!!!!!

This track ran about 1/3 of a season in 2010 and didn't make it because the owners/promoters didn't have a clue how to prep a track or run a show. If it is under new management they may have a shot at making it as it is a nice 1/3 mile configuration. It would compliment I-76 Speedway in Ft Morgan Co which is about 65 miles northeast of there. I-76 is a well lit professionally run 1/4 mile dirt that runs on Sat. nites.and is owned by ex late model driver Butch Speicher. From what I've heard the Byers track is going to run on Fridays this season. Butch has adjusted his schedule so there are no conflicting dates and the rules in all divisions are the same. The first thing they need is a new lighting system. I wish them luck as there are a lot of IMCA modifieds, sport mods, late models and 305 sprints in the area who before had to travel long distances if they wanted to anywhere besides I-76.
