Condolences to the family & friends of Dave Smith who passed away today at Tri-City Speedway!

Dave Smith (#53 UMP Modified) was sitting in his racecar in the pit area getting ready to go out for his first practice session of the day when he suffered a massive heart attack. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

I didn't know Dave personally either, but he was a racer and in my book that makes him family.

Dave was a good race and a funny guy to be around. He love racing and did not care if he was 5 laps down. as long as he was having fun.. We will miss you Dave
