11/15/2008, World renowned racing photographer Kevin Horcher ventured down to an indoor arena in Sedalia,Mo.for driving duties in the Palazzolo/Worrell Suzuki powered Ridgeway #7 Micro last night.
With Zach Daum serving as Kevins crew chief,Kevin followed the other half of the Palazzolo racing enterprize #70 Peter Palazzolo across the line for a third place heat race finish. This put Kevin on the third row inside with Peter Palazzolo just ahead of him in the second row inside for the feature line up.
Zach Daum again grabbed his wrenches and went to work on Kevins #7 mount and when the feature checkers flew it was Kevin Horcher across the line for his very first second place finish. Peter Palazzolo finished 4th after an altercation with another car. At last report Horcher was looking for a bigger helmet.....

check out the name on the side of the car!!! KATIE!!!! haaaaahaaaaa. i remember in 1984 i bought a used simpson helmet from a dealer/driver named PEPE MARCHEESI. for the longest time all i heard from him was 'pepe kneppe'. (because it said 'pepe' on the side of the helmet before i put some tape over it.) i wonder how he feels having katie on the car!!! haaaaahaaaa. hey katie horcher.... ya listenin', katie????? haaaaaaahaaaaaaa. now, THAT'S FUNNY!!!!!

Aw come on Art, don't pick on Katie that way! Besides you needed someone to pick on you back then.
Kevin did a whale of a job in Katie's car, used his head, got his elbows up and raced hard. Unlike the team car that had Peter hitting everything but the flagman, indoor racing can be frustrating
Jeff

Congrats Kevin, I see a two piece and some fenders in your future ! LOL

Jason:D

ok, jeff; i wasn't picking on katie!LOL! back when (you and me) were running midgets the horchers didn't miss an opprotunity to poke some fun at any of the racers, but i got it in triplicate almost every night at the shop! when i heard kevin was trying his hand at driving, and some of his attempts in loyet's car didn't exactly go too well, i was remembering all the ribbing i took years back, and kinda chuckling to myself about what i was hearing about his being upside down(s). and when i saw the name on the car, i couldn't resist!!! hope everyone had fun.

When Kevin flipped, he called me at 8 am the next morning to tell me about it. Now he runs 2nd, and I have yet to hear from him. Guess we know where his priorites are.

Yeah Kevin gets more exicited about a "dump" then the old guys in a nursing home. lol:eek:

YOU GO BOY!!!

Picture guys behind the wheel, too cool.

Makes me want to run my Astro at Big River Sand Drags next year.

Go Kevin!

Kevin's Hands

I think it is more like one hand on the steering wheel and the other on his yahoo. I would say he would be ready to move up in the ranks of Allied, but I hear you cant get a good ride without two years of bomber experience.

I think just about everyone that has been in that old dinosaur of a car has dumped it at least once, with some occurences more spectacular than others.

Here's a shot of Gavin Galbreath's adventures with "Katie's car" at the Washington Town & Country Fair this past August.

Dinosaur? Just because the old girls been around for awhile you want to call it a dinosour!
Actually Kevin has driven the car about 5 times and has never put a scratch on it. Midgetman is referring to Kevins other ride the Loyet/Miller micro that Kevin has crashed and turned over on a couple of ocassions.
Allthough Katie has flipped it, Josh Worrell wadded it up with a nasty flip and Gavin's handy work is documented with the picture, which ironically was snapped by kevin Horcher. It surely cannot be the car, has to be the drivers!:D

I have enjoyed all the comments from my friends including Art. I totally forgot about the "Pepi" helmet. Art, you have a good memory considering how many times you flipped. Just so you know, I don't care what is painted on the car as long as I'm the driver. And Jason, fenders maybe, 2 piece, NEVER. Jeff, when you listed all the people who flipped Katie's car and the 1 who didn't. You forgot the other person who didn't flip it. Don't forget you drove it 1 time this year without damage. Now I just need to thank the people who helped make the race at Sedalia,MO fun for me. Thanks to Katie Palazzolo, Jeff Palazzolo and Howard Worrell for letting me drive the car. Also, thanks to Zach Daum and Bill Allen for help in the pits and some driving tips. I would like to thank Katie/Jeff Palazzolo, Howard Worrell, Rick/Joe B Miller, Joe/Brad Loyet and John Potter for trusting me with their race cars during the 2008 season. Also, Patrick Budde, Steve Thomas/Bell Racing, Rick/Tim England, Mark Gass, Brad Loyet, Robbins Racing, Mike Obst, Steve Knepper and Chip Thomas all helped me with parts/ pieces, safety equipment and fuel throughout 2008. Thanks to all the generous people who helped me live a dream. Racing isn't cheap, so I'm always looking for big or small sponsors for 2009.
Thanks
Kevin Horcher
