(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) The Conley Motorsports, Inc. racing team will be out in full force this weekend in the season opener at the K-C Raceway in Chillicothe, OH. Delmas, Rod, and R.J. Conley are all scheduled to be in attendance at the racy oval in southern Ohio. All three Conley’s have had much success at K-C in year’s past and they will be looking to kick off the 2005 season at K-C in grand fashion. Jim Nier's K-C Raceway is located 12 miles south of Chillicothe OH on US Route 23 to Alma, OH, then west two miles on Blain Highway. For more information on the track, please visit their website at www.kc-raceway.com.

R.J. and his brother “Hot Rod” were both in action last weekend at the Florence Speedway in Union, KY. R.J. competed in both night’s of racing action in the annual ‘Spring 50’ weekend at the King family owned ½-mile, whereas Rod only raced in Saturday’s finale. Both the $3,000 tune-up on Friday night and the $5,000 to win ‘Spring 50’ were sanctioned by the O’Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Series.

R.J. was one of the strongest cars at Florence last weekend, although his finishes were not indicative of that fact. On Friday night, R.J. won his heat race, but severely damaged his motor by doing so. He had to switch to a back-up car for the feature event and rally from the tail of the field. He was able to pilot his Conley Trucking / Cornett Building Supply / Mortgage One #71c Rocket / Draime Grand Prix up to the seventh spot before catching a rut between turns three and four. Several cars were able to get by R.J. and he wound up finishing twelfth in the final rundown.

The #71c was also a major threat on Saturday, as he once again won his heat race. R.J. battled amongst the top three throughout the first half of the event before fading near the end. He once again finished twelfth, as he struggled with an ultra-tight car. His brother Rod struggled throughout the night and failed to make the starting field for the 50-lap, $5,000 to win event. He finished seventh in his heat race and fourth in his consolation race, which was not good enough to transfer to the big show.

“If we could get these feature races down to about ten laps like the heat races, I would be dangerous,” stated R.J. this past weekend. “Our car was good both nights in the heat race, but we just can’t get the handle for the 50 plus lap features. Who knows what would have happened Friday night if we wouldn’t have hurt our motor in the primary car? But then on Saturday, we ran up front for the first half of the race, but when our tires got hot our car got really tight.”
