Continuing a recent string of strong finishes, Jon Corbin picked up his second career O’Reilly Auto Parts/American Compressed Steel/Hoosier Racing Tires Winged Outlaw Warriors victory on Saturday night.
Rex Combs jumped into the lead from the pole followed by Eric Schrock, Toby Brown, and Corbin. Combs would continue to lead, but behind him, the trio was fighting very hard for the second spot.
By lap three, Corbin, using the bottom groove, had worked his way into second. He patiently continued to reel in Combs and by lap five, he had worked his way to only a couple of car lengths out of the lead.
Corbin was able to work past Combs and going into turn one he moved from the bottom to the top groove and climbed the cushion. Corbin was able to save his car, but Combs, who had also climbed the cushion, looped his car, bringing out the race’s first caution.
At this point, it was Corbin in the lead followed by Brown, Schrock, and Terry Hinck. Jason Evans, who had started tenth, had worked his way up to the top five. Another impressive charge was by Rusty Potter, who had moved from fifteenth to seventh.
On the lap seven restart, Travis Marsch spun in turn four bringing out another caution flag. This would be the final yellow of the evening as the remainder of the race would go non-stop.
By lap eight, the top four remained the same, but WOW point leader Randy Martin had replaced Evans in the top five.
The top five would continue this way until Martin was able to get by Hinck.
By lap thirteen, Brown, Schrock, and Martin were waging a battle for the second spot as Corbin had checked out on the competition.
Martin was finally able to crack the top three passing Schrock at the flagstand on lap fifteen.
For the next couple of laps, Brown and Martin waged a torrid battle for the runner-up spot as Martin would use a slidejob to take second in one corner only to have Brown return the favor in the next turn.
Finally, by lap eighteen, Martin was able to get by Brown for good and set his sights on Corbin. Martin was able to close a little, but Corbin went on to a half about half of a straightaway victory in the Rick Smith Eagle/Engine Connection #33. Martin would settle for second in the Diamond Pet Foods Maxim/Kistler #14. Brown rebounded from some recent bad luck to finish third in the Terry Brown Maxim/Wesmar #61A. Terry Hinck and Rusty Potter waged a battle of their own with Hinck finishing fourth in the Hinck Racing #21H and WeldWheels Hard Charger Potter advancing ten spots to finish fifth in his own #3P. Schrock would fade to sixth at the finish in the H&S Sales/Lake Ozark Speedway #86 after an impressive early run. Finishing seventh was Jeff Stanley, while Ed Wagner also made a great charge through the field to finish eighth. Gabe Maycock and Jason Evans rounded out the top ten.
The Winged Outlaw Warriors will be in action again on Monday July 3rd at the State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, MO as part of a co-sanctioned event with the ASCS National Tour. For information, please check out wowsprints.homestead.com for the latest information.

Notes-The first start was called back due to cars being out of line coming for the green. On the second start, Brown jumped into the lead and would build a huge advantage in the eight lapper. The man on the move in this one was Jason Evans. By lap four, Evans had advanced to fifth and on lap five, he passed Barks for a transfer spot at the flagstand. By lap seven, Evans had worked his way past Curtis Boyer for third, but he would run out of laps and have to settle for that position.

1. 86 Eric Schrock-Lake Ozark, MO(2) 2. 71 Mike Trent- Rocheport, MO(1) 3. 6 Bryan Grimes-Slater, MO(8) 4. 3P Rusty Potter-Boonville, MO(6) 5. 6x Brandon Schneider-Edwardsville, IL(7) 6. 47 Mark Tischer-Hannibal, MO(5) 7. 38F Devin Frisbie-Kansas City, MO(4) 8. 11 Stan Boch-Shawnee, KS(3) 9. 24 Lanny Carpenter-Clarksburg, MO(DNS)
Notes-Schrock used the high line to move into the lead immediately. Grimes, who started 8th, moved to the bottom going through turns one and two, and gave a slidejob to Devin Frisbie to move into third. On lap two, fourth running Stan Boch made contact with the turn one wall and would come to a stop in turn two ending his evening. On the restart, Schrock would jump into the lead and go on to an easy win. Grimes was able to get to the tail tank of Mike Trent a few times throughout the heat, but was unable to make the pass as the top three all rode the cushion. On lap five, fourth running Rusty Potter climbed the cushion and nearly spun allowing fifth running Brandon Schneider an opportunity to close the gap between the two. On lap seven, Devin Frisbie spun in turn two, but none of the top four would change after the restart.

4th Heat-8 laps(top four transfer to A)
1. 21H Terry Hinck-Boonville, MO(2) 2. 75 Tyler Blank-California, MO(9) 3. 12C Faron Crank-Sedalia, MO(6) 4. 2M Travis Marsch-Russellville, MO(6) 5. 3B Robert Black, Blue Springs, MO(8) 6. 43 Frank Brown - Marshall, MO(7) 7. 9M Dale McCarty-Eldorado Springs, MO(5) 8. 28 Andy Korte-California, MO(1) 9. 73 Ed Wagner-Lone Jack, MO(4)
Notes-Terry Hinck jumped into the lead immediately and would go unchallenged to the win. The action behind him was hot and heavy. Early on it was Andy Korte, Ed Wagner, Faron Crank, and Frank Brown all battling for the second spot. By lap five, Brown had moved his way past Wagner for third and then Korte for second going into turn one. Wagner made a low move to get by Korte as well and made contact with Brown. This caused Brown to slide to a stop in turn two and Wagner spun and was hit by Korte, who had no place to go. There was too much damage for Wagner and Korte to continue, but Brown would attempt to run the rest of the race with a broken shock. The beneficiary of the yellow was Tyler Blank, who was able to move into second from his ninth starting position. Brown could not get his car to handle correctly and would have to settle for the B.

1st B Main-10 laps(top two transfer to A)
1. 19 Tracy Nichols-Columbia, MO(4) 2. 22x Dustin Barks-Farmington, MO(2) 3. 5B Rick Ideus-Silver City, IA(6) 4. 9C Tony Crank - Sedalia, MO(8) 5. 7J JD Black-Grain Valley, MO(3) 6. 2 Ryan Marsch-Russellville, MO(1) 7. 23F- Matt Fox-Sedalia, MO(5) 8. 10 Ron Kuhn-Lee's Summit, MO(11) 9. 04 Brad Graham-Strafford, MO(9) 10. 48 David Brown- Marshall, MO(10) 11. 77 Patrick Bruns-Champaign, IL(7)-DNF
Notes-Marsch ran the bottom and Nichols the top in a battle for the lead. On lap two, Matt Fox looped it in turn three. This caused a chain reaction in which Patrick Bruns hit Fox and Brad Graham spun into Bruns. Bruns would be done for the night, but the other drivers would be able to continue. On the restart, Nichols was able to take the lead using the high line and Dustin Barks would get by Marsch as well. Barks began to gain on Nichols and would get by him at the flagstand on lap nine. During the same lap, Ron Kuhn spun and JD Black stopped bringing out the yellow flag. Because a full lap had not been completed, Nichols got the top spot back and would go on to the win followed by Barks.

2nd B Main-10 laps(top two transfer to A)
1. 73 Ed Wagner-Lone Jack, MO(6) 2. 3B Robert Black, Blue Springs, MO(2) 3. 24 Lanny Carpenter-Clarksburg, MO(7) 4. 38F Devin Frisbie-Kansas City, MO(5) 5. 9M Dale McCarty-Eldorado Springs, MO(4) 6. 47 Mark Tischer-Hannibal, MO(3) 7. 6x Brandon Schneider-Edwardsville, IL(1)-DNF Did Not Start-43 Frank Brown - Marshall, MO, 11 Stan Boch-Shawnee, KS, 28 Andy Korte-California, MO
Notes-Brown would not start due to throttle linkage problems. Boch and Korte did not start due to too much damage in heat race incidents. Robert Black led this one early followed by Schneider. By lap five, Wagner had made his presence known using the high side and moving into second. On lap six, Schneider spun between turns one and two climbing the berm and making slight contact with an infield vehicle, but the yellow was not thrown. For the final four laps, Black and Wagner would trade the lead with Wagner leading laps seven and eight. Black would lead lap nine and the pair nearly made contact on the backstretch in the battle for the lead.. Wagner got a run off of the top coming off of turn four to nip Black for the win at the flagstand.
