crate motor in the street stocks?

Couldnt agree more with what you said, I think some of these guys are not thinking outside the box or have money to afford mullins or hovis engines plus they like to race with a limited car count to insure there win each race nite and them guys are the ones that i could care less about, there is ways to keep bad fast cars in this class with out paying high buck for this or that........change it "all" now and keep it that way, and I agree it needs to be left into the hands of the racers but after reading a couple of these post even that is very scary....Happy Holloween
just curious who you think these guys are cause all the cars at Tri city could win on any giving night imo

the guys that race at tri city speedway always put on a good show no matter where they go. they always are competitive, however, when a car from another track comes down here and runs this track the usually dont do all that well. and as for a limited car count they had a higher count than the late models have for like the past two years. if there is any class that deserves a higher pay, it is these guys, they work on their cars just as hard as anyone else and out on a BETTER show. i dont think they need to change anything, the class runs great how it is and brings in high counts

You need to just leave well enough alone!! Let SS have them there then that would be the only place they can run!! F*** that! and DIRTBOY you need to shut the hell up. You dont even race!!

stop running your mouth fagboy...ive forgot more about racing then you will ever know!!!!

Agreed

I agree the 602 is more expensive than a built 355. We all saw how many motors went up in smoke this year. I raced Street stock class for 2 years and NEVER had a motor blow up. I won plenty of races and had a car that handled like a glove. Kevin is looking at options to help the racers out!!! Alot of people bash tracks for not doing that so what is the big deal? I know a guy who has a car that is top 3-5 every night. Lets put that car up aginst a car with a 602 and see what kinda of lap times we get. Hell for that matter, lets do 20 laps with that car and the built motor and then swap motors to the 602 and run 20 laps with same driver and see what the difference is. It may be just my opnion, but I think some guys try to run the wrong gear and turn them like a super late model instead of tuning the gear to the power curve. I had D&M Performance in Breese built motors in my bomber and both sportsmans and only thing we ever did over the 4 years is change oil!!! If you want a built motor that will last call them up!! My yellow bomber had a new 355 that cost $3000...The 06 sportsman that won a ton of races and two championships had a 383 that cost $8000.

Kevin, if you want to have an open test at the track on a Sat or Sunday and put a 602 vs 355 session, let us know. I think it would be interesting>>> Brandon Hogenson

think its a great idea .... but how you gonna bolt a rochester two barrell intake to a set of vortec heads ????????? not saying it cant be done but you must drill extra holes in the intake and a little machine work back into more $$$$ signs.????? im all for it if we run a four barrell . heck ill even add more lead...

only thing that needs changed is the garbage rochester 2 barrell wont let your motor breath . might save your motors with a holley 500 . and you aint gotta work on the dang thing all the time..... my opinion i just sit in the stands......

you would have to run the motor just the way it comes...wouldn't make no since to order one then open it up to change all that imo!!! Four barrel also lol

lol I hear ya bro...at least your driver will have a spare next year when he over hauls them boys next year lol

rule is rochester 2 barrell and 2 barrell intake was only giving a example .. would be a pain for sum .. but ya leave it the same ill take one .. heck i will even pay to dyno it against the motor in tommys car .. dyno both at same time......

I think guys like Gegg,Worley,Armstrong and so on could win with this motor and make it look good !!!

heck three cars and five motors we may make it a full season 2013 ......regardless of rule changes or regular rules . well be there kevin. thanks for a great season.....

i know for a fact the motor will work .. they just never pulled my iron eagles off back in the day .. all we used to run in our sportsman was a stock gm crate shortblock.......... and very competitive with it..........
