(CHICKAMAUGA, GEORGIA) Current World of Outlaws Late Model Series point
leader Dale McDowell held on to the point lead after last Saturday night's
WoO sanctioned show at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN. Dale made his
way into the 60-lap, $10,000 to win feature event by virtue of finishing
third in his heat race. He started eighteenth on the grid for the feature
and methodically picked off competitor after competitor en route to a strong
sixth place finish. Dale now has a three point lead over Scott Bloomquist
in the yearlong WoO Late Model Series point standings after seven events.

In the unsanctioned, $3,000 to win Duayne Hommel Benefit on Friday night at
Bulls Gap, Dale was not so fortunate. He could only muster a fourteenth
place finish on the ultra-fast, high-banked oval in his Petroff Towing / J&J
Steel / New Vision Graphics #17m Larry Shaw / Racetek Grand Prix. You can
read more about these two events by logging on www.voluteerspeedway.com.

Dale's 2004 tour will continue this weekend, as the familiar #17m will take
the track at the Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS for the 12th annual James
King Memorial. Late model qualifying and heat races roll off on the
Columbus, MS speed plant this Friday night. The consolation events and the
64-lap, $12,000 to win James King Memorial event is on tap for Saturday.
