Malden, Missouri (06/11/10) – Dane Dacus used a late race pass of race-long leader, Dewaine Hottinger to become the third different winner on the 2010 COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model tour in Friday night’s $2,000 to win event at Malden Speedway in Malden, Missouri.

Despite threatening skies a great field of 33 Super Late Models entered the $2,000 to win/$300 to start event on Friday night at Malden Speedway in Malden, Missouri. Extremely racy conditions greeted the COMP Cams MSRA competitors, and Dewaine Hottinger accumulated the most passing points in heat race action to earn the JFR Graphics Pole Position for the 30 lap feature. He was joined on the front row by Stacey Taylor, and it was Hottinger that grabbed the lead at the start of the race.

As Hottinger paced the field Taylor, Jamie Dacus, and Dane Dacus began to battle for the second spot.

Hottinger would maintain the top spot for the first 20 laps of the caution free feature as Dane Dacus began to apply heavy pressure for the top spot. The duo would battle for the lead for the next several laps, and Dacus would ultimately use a slide job to overtake Hottinger for the lead with two laps to go.

Dane Dacus would lead the final two laps to take his first COMP Cams MSRA win of the season over Dewaine Hottinger, Kyle Beard, Stacey Taylor, and Wendell Wallace rounded out the top five.

Heat races for the thirty-three car field were won by Dewaine Hottinger, Shane Stephens, Dane Dacus, and Jamie Dacus. Eric Turner and Bill Frye won the twin b-mains.

Bill Frye was the Larry Shaw Race Cars Hard Charger after advancing from his 15th starting spot to an 11th place finish.

The Quartermaster Hard Luck Award went to Brandon Smith, who saw overheating problems bring his strong run to an end.

The COMP Cams Top Performer was Dane Dacus.
