Deery Series returns to Quincy Raceway for June 13 Titan Wheel and Tire Shootout

QUINCY, Ill. (June 7) – Quincy Raceway’s Titan Wheel and Tire Shootout special becomes part of the Deery Brothers Summer Series, with the winner of the Sunday, June 13 feature going home with $3,000.

A minimum of $300 will be paid to make the main event field. Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4 p.m. for the eighth of 16 IMCA Late Model tour events on the 2010 schedule. Hot laps are at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 5:30 p.m.

Admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors, $10 for students ages 11-15, and kids 10 and under get in free. Pit passes are $25.

No tracks with Sunday IMCA Late Model sanctions are holding regular weekly programs that day. More information about the Quincy show is available by calling 217 224-4100 or 217 224-3843, and at the www.quincyraceways.com website.

Mark Burgtorf has won eight of the 23 previous series features held at his home town track, most recently on April 11 when a record 50 entries came to Quincy. Rob Toland of Davenport, Iowa, is a four-time winner there.

Point leader Ray Guss Jr. of Milan is a two-time Deery winner so far this season. Burgtorf is second in the standings and has three circuit victories to his credit. Six-time and defending champion Jeff Aikey of Waterloo, Iowa, is third in points and has also won two tour features.

Series newcomer Andy Eckrich of Iowa City, Iowa, and Marshalltown, Iowa’s Darrel DeFrance round out the top five. DeFrance has now extended his perfect attendance streak to 359 consecutive Deery events.
