Definitions of "Rubbered Up" and "Locked Down"

Dry slick usually provides the best side by side racing... But tracks around here usually do a good job of not letting them go too far and rubber up.

Agreed. But it was a really warm and windy evening.....the two biggest enemies of a dirt track. Consequently the track "dry-capped" or "capped over" early, blue streaked, and slicked off bad.......Eventally it locked all together....top to bottom. The only thing they could have done was to rip the track, re-water, and start over. With a local curfew in effect they simply had no time . Everyone in the A-Main burned tires to the cord.
