Delaware Double File Restarts coming to Tri-City Speedway in 2014!!

My graphics guy is going to love this, I will be needing a new one every other week. Lol

Works all over country. So you are saying our drivers from this area aren't as good as the rest of the country?

How about looking at it differently. Everybody says we have the best racers & best racing in the country, so now we are giving the 3rd place guy a free shot at 1st. & 2nd. We already put lap cars to the rear, we might as well take all the challenge out of racing and just give the checker to the fastest car in hot laps.

What ever happened to using strategy to win races?

If they can make it work at Fulton then Kevin can make it work at TCS. Everyone is so close-minded and hates change.

All this worry for no good reason. These restarts can and WILL work. On a lark, I dug out an old tape from Godfrey Speedway and found this gem from 1991, and offer you proof that if you can do this on a track that was as small and tight as Godfrey, it shouldn't be any problem at the spacious Tri City:

I don't see a problem with these cars after restart as they came out of turn 2 single file

As a fan, on the occasions I make it to Tri-City this coming year I'll be looking forward to this change. One of the things that took some getting used to after moving to STL from CT was the single file restarts; the tracks I attended had regular double file restarts all night long (one track did single file last 5 laps of the feature).

You all will be just fine. In reading the comments here it mirrors the same things that were being said on our racing forums out here in Western Missouri a few years back. There was NOT a lot of cars torn up, it DID not drag out the program, and it definitely DID NOT bore the race fans once all the tracks went to this format. It does however add excitement for the fans, keeps the driver's up on their game especially if they get lane choice, and it does keep racing in general moving forward instead of clinging to the formats of yesteryear. I don't think they will put lap cars to the back at least not until the last few laps but I would like to see the car re-starting next to the lap car get lane choice.

HEY GUYS HAVEYOU EVER BEEN STUCK BEHIND A GUY AND COULDNT GET AROUND AND GOT A CAUTION AND THOUGHT TO YOURSELF MAN IF I COULD JUST GET BESIDE OF HIM I COULD GET BY HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO PROVE IT ......IT IS A GREAT THING JUST THING FOR THE FANS AND THATS WHAT WE ARE THERE FOR.

I really don't see the problem with it.if its just going to cause massive wrecks and be unfair to a guy because this certain driver is restarting next to you.then they should just stop double file starting period.start the heats and features single file.that would be boring! double file restarts will make it better for the fans.

Doug, if your video was from 1991, I assume it was from a VHS tape. I was wondering how you got it transferred to an internet video.
