(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb and his #28 team have been busy over the last week, as they have entered four Dirt Late Model events in Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa. Dennis kicked off his extended weekend with his fifteenth victory of the 2007 racing season on Friday night, August 3 at the Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois. The Carpentersville, Illinois native was second fastest in qualifying prior to winning his heat race and the $2,000 to win feature event.
Dennis backed that victory up with his sixteenth win of the year on Saturday at the Kamp Motor Speedway in Boswell, Indiana. The 2007 UMP Summernationals Champion won his heat race following a strong qualifying effort. Dennis later dominated the UMP feature event and jumped up into second in the overall point standings for the UMP Late Model division. Following a day off on Sunday, the Dennis Erb Racing team was back in action on Monday and Tuesday, August 6-7 in a pair of $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events. On Monday at the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois, Dennis qualified well, won his heat race, and finished eleventh in front of the SPEED Channel cameras in the ‘Illinois Valley Challenge 50.’ At the Dubuque Speedway in Dubuque, Iowa on Tuesday, Dennis ran third in his heat race, but improved six spots during the 50-lap A-Main en route to a solid fifth place performance. Dennis will tackle a trio of UMP events over the weekend in Illinois and Indiana. On Friday, August 10, the #28 team will be in action at the Kankakee Motor Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois.
