(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The penultimate event of the 2017 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series season took the Dennis Erb Racing team to the sprawling Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, Pennsylvania on October 6-7 for the 29th edition of the 'Pittsburgher 100.' On Friday night during preliminary action, Dennis Erb, Jr. knocked down the ninth quickest circuit in Group B during the time trial session prior to placing fifth in his stacked heat race.

Following a B-Main triumph on Saturday evening, Dennis was heading towards an apparent top ten effort in the $20,000 to win feature event when rear-end issues on his #28 Black Diamond machine dropped him to a disappointing twentieth place performance after 100 green flag laps. The Carpentersville, Illinois native still finds himself eighth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings exiting PPMS. Complete results from the 'Pittsburgher 100' weekend can be obtained by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

With the Lucas Oil tour sitting idle on October 13-14, the #28 team will head to the nearby Dirt Oval at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois for the two-day 'Chi-Town Showdown.' The World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series will sanction a pair of 50-lap contests over the weekend at the Chicago-area facility - each of which will boast a $10,000 payday. On both Friday and Saturday, a complete show featuring qualifying, heat races, consolation events, and the headliner will be held at the newly reopened oval.
