(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb picked up another victory last weekend, this time at the Macon Speedway in Macon, IL. Dennis traveled to Macon on Saturday night because the Northern Allstar Late Model Series event that he had planned on running at the Crown Point (IN) Speedway got rained out. The Petroff Towing / B&K Sportswear #28 Rayburn / Hedrick Monte Carlo timed in second fastest at the small bullring and then proceeded to run sixth in the dash and seventh in his heat race. There was two, $1,500 to win features on tap at Macon and Dennis took the checkers in the first feature. He then drew a six, which meant that the top six were inverted for the second feature. Dennis ended up finishing fifteenth in the second feature after pulling off the track because of damage on his #28.

“The bumper and nose rolled underneath the car in that second feature,” said Dennis on Monday night. “It kept getting worse, so we decided to pull in before it tore up anything else. It was a good win for us in the first feature, we have been going pretty good here lately and hopefully we can keep being consistently fast.”

Dennis was consistent in the other two events that he attended last weekend, as he finished third at both the Kankakee (IL) Motor Speedway on Friday and the Fayette County (IL) Speedway on Sunday. The show at Kankakee was a NALMS event, while the Sunday show was a UMP Challenge of Champions event. Both shows paid $2,000 to the winner.

Dennis Erb Racing will head to Missouri this weekend for the first mega event of 2004, the 12th Annual ‘Show-Me 100’. The $38,000 to win event kicks off this Thursday night with an open practice session at the West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO. Late Model Time Trials, the Manufacturers Dash, and the Past Champions Race are on tap Friday at the 3/8-mile, red-clay oval. Saturday features Late Model Heat races, the Last-Chance events, and the $38,000 to win, $3,800 to start ‘Show-Me 100’. You can learn more about West Plains Motor Speedway and the event this weekend by accessing www.westplains-speedway.com.

The #28 will also be in action on Sunday and possibly even Monday over the upcoming Memorial Day holiday weekend. On Sunday night after West Plains, Dennis and the team will pull into the Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN for a $2,000 to win UMP Challenge of Champions event. Dennis is still unsure if he will race on Monday, but if he does, he will more than likely compete in the $5,000 to win PolyDome WDRL event at the West Liberty Raceway in West Liberty, IA.
