He doesn't have a single top 5 finish in the entire Summer Nationals series thus far. I believe I'd be switching chassis again.

Cj Rayburn and Rhyne Engines why change a winning combination.Tim Lance has ran respectable in a 2007 Rayburn.

When was the last time a Rayburn won a major race??? Yet alone with any consistency. Rayburns are dinosaurs in the DLM world. If it is not a heavy hooked down cushioned track they are junk. CJ had his day in the sun and now it is somebody else's days to shine. As a driver you need to start looking for the next big thing or just run mediocre.

He could have got his first top five at Paducah had Korte not spun him out three laps into the race. Erb had already passed 5 cars and was looking to have a good finish

woulda shoulda coulda... if he passed 5 cars in 3 laps, he should have had plenty of time to make up for it. look at Babb's consistency since switching to Victory Circle, multiple top 3's, 3 wins on the year (2 SM and 1 in Iowa unsanctioned), as much as i dislike erb i'd say give moyers stuff a try. Or keep on keeping on, i love it :)

i am an erb fan, but i have seen he has been struggling. i dont blame him for trying to get into a bloomquist car, they are obviously one of the most elite chassis in the country, a bloomquist car in my opinion is the best. however, it depends on the driver and their style, in my opinion dennis was a lot better in a rayburn. it is a complete package deal, i am sure dennis will figure out what is wrong

Rodney Melvin runs good in his dinosaur,I know they are regarded as such but in Erbs case he has done almost nothing the last two years,so it is not just an off year!Rodney tried switching to a Mastersbilt a couple years ago and gave up on that also.If some big names ran them there would be results to go with them.

There were big names running them until they got left behind. There was a time not too long ago at Eldora that you almost had to be in a Rayburn to be in contention. Those days are gone. Erb was decent in a Rayburn for a long time but he felt it was better to move on to something more up to date. Otherwise he would still be in one. CJ I think is just not too concerned about competing anymore. If he is, he needs to look at what everyone else is doing just like everyone used to do when the Rayburns were the ticket. Weaver and Erb and O'neal used to test a lot of stuff out on the Rayburns but CJ would tell the to stick with what he put on the car. He would say if it was better it would already be on the car.

It is quite simple in the racing world. You lead, follow or get the hell out of the way. I think CJ is just content with the latter.

yYou are correct about CJ being set in his ways, but in Erbs case what do you think is the answer,he killed two years trying to find the answer! Babb ****ed in a rocket doing so-so in the victory circle car.I dont think the Rayburns will win a crown jewel race but the Summernationals are feasible.
