DUANE CHAMBERLAIN Motorsports has signed with Rhino’s Energy Drink out of Austria to the team. Rhino’s Energy Drink and Food AG has agreed to become an associate sponsor on Insane Duane’s #1 CJ Rayburn Monte Carlo.

CALEY EMERSON of Grand Rapids, MN is the current WDRL Rookie of the Year point leader.

World of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series “Dirty Dozen” member SHANE CLANTON underwent left shoulder rotator cuff surgery Monday, May 9th and is recovering at his Locust Grove, GA home.

JOHN DUTY of Portland, Oregon, driver of the #5 Don Frank Floor Coverings/Rocket Chassis/Grand Prix, has entered the 2nd Annual Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals set for September 29th, 30th, and October 1st, 2005 at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, IA. John is the first West Coast based driver to enter the event for 2005. Duty and crew chief Craig Cassell made the 33.5 hour trip, one way, to compete in the 2004 version of the event, and Duty was one of 14 teams that made the trip from the Pacific Northwest in 2004.

JEEP VAN WORMER has won four features so far this season in his Bayline Fire Protection / Globe Technologies / Services on Site #55 MasterSbilt / Cornett Ford Taurus #55.

AARON SCOTT holds a slim two-point margin over Rusty Schlenk in the cumulative Sunoco ALMS point race.

Second-generation sensation TIM MCCREADIE plans a unique double at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway, competing in the Ferris Commercial Mowers presents the Eckerd 75 on Wednesday night, May 25, and the Jani-King Southern Showdown on Friday night, May 27. The Ferris Commercial Mowers presents the Eckerd 75 is part of the Advance Auto Parts Modified Super DIRT Series and features the New York-based big-block DIRT modifieds while the Jani-King Southern Showdown is headlined by the late model stock cars of the nomadic O'Reilly Southern All Star Racing Series.

The STEVE BARNETT Racing team has decided to change their racing plans for the 2005 season. Steve will not be able to run a full schedule and compete for the O’Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Dirtcar Series title as he had planned due to several conflicting race dates and commitments to sponsors.

BRADY SMITH recently inked a title sponsor as the AMSOIL Corporation has agreed to become the primary sponsor on Smith’s #2 Dirt Late Model. The sponsorship from the Superior, Wisconsin based company gives the 2004 PolyDome WDRL Late Model Series Champion and Rookie of the Year the opportunity to travel around the country to all of the major Dirt Late Model events.

GARY STOLBA and the SPC Motorsports team, along with Delph Communications, are pleased to announce the launch of a brand new website into cyberspace. The website, located at www.garystolba.com, is dedicated to thirty-seven year old Dirt Late Model driver Gary Stolba of Willow Springs, MO. He has been slinging dirt for eleven years and is competing on a full-time basis with the Stacker2 Mid-America Racing Series (MARS) in 2005.

Young Indiantown, Florida driver PATRICK SHELTRA tested an ARCA RE/MAX Series car last Monday at the Kentucky Speedway. The test session went so well that car owner Tony Clements decided to give Patrick the opportunity to compete in the Harley-Davidson of Cincinnati 150 at the Sparta, Kentucky speedplant on Saturday night May 14.

2004 BTW/Late Model America/Cleveland Speedway Driving School Rookie of the Year RODNEY MARTIN recently claimed his first career O'Reilly Southern All Star Super Late Model win at I-20 Speedway.

NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series veteran KEN SCHRADER will return to his racing roots Friday night, May 27, when the Fenton, Mo., native competes in the Jani-King Southern Showdown Late Model event at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway.

KENNY MERCHANT continued his recent string of strong runs in his J.D. Caver/J&J Motorsports Keith Craft-powered MasterSbilt by holding off all challenges to take the win in O'Reilly SUPR Late Model competition at Houston Raceway Park recently which kept him on top of the O'Reilly SUPR championship point chase.

After two point races, two familiar names are on top in the Hagerstown Speedway Late Model point standings. Defending and four time track champion ROY DEESE JR of Laurel holds a slim 13 point lead over six-time track champion Nathan Durboraw of Hagerstown.

Dunnville, KY's WHITNEY MCQUEARY netted his biggest career win recently with the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series at 201 Speedway. McQueary took the win in his Bigg Dawg Motorsports/Kelco Metals/Tarter Gate/Tarter Tube sponsored Bullock powered Rocket Monte Carlo.

Late Model Hall of Fame driver JEFF PURVIS will return to his racing roots on Sunday, May 29th in the Salute to Armed Forces 120 at Clarksville Speedway. The legendary three-time World 100 Champion leads the growing list of entries that will compete in the 50-lap $3,000-to-win Crate Racin' USA-sanctioned Late Model portion of the Holiday weekend racing extravaganza at the high banked 1/4 mile clay oval.

Congratulations to LES STADEL seven-time point champion at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, SD, on being the FIRST local racer inducted into the Rapid City Sports Hall of Fame Honor Court. Stadel retired from driving a couple of years ago, but still remains active in the racing efforts of son Mike and daughter Tammy. He occasionally climbs behind the wheel now and again, and was also instrumental in formation of the NAPA/MDA Racing for a Cure Late Model series. Les Stadel dominated Rapid City auto racing for over 30 years, starting in 1969, when he won the hobby class season point title at the Black Hills Speedway in his first full season of racing. Stadel's greatest success came in the late model division, where he won six season point titles (1975, 1976, 1977, 1985, 1991, 1992).

SANCTION NEWS & NOTES:

The MACS series makes its lone appearance of the season at Mike and Jim Duffy’s McKean County Raceway, E. Smethport, PA, on Saturday, May 21, for the Elk Power, Inc. presentation of the “Hazen Jordon Memorial 50” paying $5,000 to-win from the $28,500 total purse. Hazen was a long time prep wizard at McKean keeping the surface tuned to perfection. Hazen passed away early last year after battling a serious illness. In recognition of his significant contribution to McKean the officials have named the event in his honor.

Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 28, the MACS series travels to Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway. VMS is the crown jewel of southern short track facilities and will be hosting the “Virginia Motor 50” paying $10,000 to-win from the $50,000 total purse. This event, as well as the September 17 MACS show at VMS, will be broadcast live via www.racetalklive.com.

Officials with the O'Reilly MLRA have announced that they have teamed with Sports Nutz retail outlets as the sponsor for the O'Reilly MLRA Rookie of the Year race.

The Deery Brothers Summer Series gets back on the track with a Wednesday, May 25 show at Lee County Speedway. Pit gates at Donnellson open at 5 p.m. for the seventh of 20 events in the I.M.C.A. Sunoco Late Model tour.

The Intercomp contingency program for the Deery Brothers Summer Series and for I.M.C.A. Sunoco Stock Cars has been renewed for 2005. Manufacturer of the official scales for I.M.C.A., Intercomp will award $100 product certificates to designated place finishers at each event in the series for I.M.C.A. Sunoco Late Models, as well as updated CD-ROM Race Car Man-age-ment software packages to first, fifth and 10th place finish-ers in final point standings for the two Stock Car regions. Drivers in both classes must display two Intercomp decals on their race car to be eligible.

A total purse of more than $45,000 will be on the line when the cars and stars of the WORLD Dirt Racing League PolyDome Late Model Series make their first-ever appearance here at Outlaw Motor Speedway later this month. The two-night appearance at the state-of-the-art northeast Oklahoma facility will feature a 25-lap, $3,000-to-win main event on Friday night, May 20, and a 50-lap, $5,000 feature race on Saturday night, May 21. The two nights of racing will be co-sanctioned by the Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA).

The Lucas Oil NARA Late Model Dirt Series will invade the upper Midwest next weekend, as they will sanction events at the Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa on Friday, May 20 and the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois on Saturday, May 21. Both events will pay $10,000 to the winner and should draw many of the top Dirt Late Model competitors from across the country.

Officials at Valley Speedway announced today that the Midwest LateModel Racing Association will have a second date added to the schedule. The MLRA will be at Valley Speedway on Friday June 10th

RACETRACK NEWS & NOTES:

For the eighth time this year, rain has put the damper on racing at the Hagerstown Speedway. The four-feature program scheduled for tonight, Saturday May 14th, was washed out when a severe thunderstorm swept through the area dropping heavy rain on the speedway. May 21st, it will be the 25th Annual Shorty Bowers/Bull Durham Memorial twin-20's for the Late Models.

For the third straight year, "Topless Tuesday" returns to Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway's racing schedule as an added attraction in mid-June. This year, the race, slated for Tuesday, June 21, will be even more inviting to the Late Model drivers as they remove their roofs and race topless on Dirt's Monster Half Mile for 35 laps, instead of the previous 25 lappers. The payday for the winner of the popular event will be $2000. Keeping it even more "fan friendly", drivers will draw for heat race starting positions instead of running time trials.

Heavy rains twice deluged Lakeville Speedway right after all the hot laps were finished, forcing postponement of the first round of the American Payroll Advance Big Four Series for the Super Late Models. The race has been rescheduled for Friday, May 27th

Knoxville Raceway, which has hosted weekly auto racing since 1954, just got ‘high-tech’ with the announcement that tickets for the September 29-30-October 1 Lucas Oil Late Model Nationals are now available on-line at www.knoxvilleraceway.com. It is the first time in the history of the half-mile dirt oval that reserved grandstand tickets are available for purchase via the internet. Fans wishing to purchase tickets on-line for the $220,000 national championship event are encouraged to use one of the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover. Reserved grandstand tickets are $85 per set for the three-day show. There is a five-dollar shipping and handling fee per credit card transaction.

This Saturday night Wayne County Speedway will celebrate graduates by issuing a general admission pass to all high school seniors who have their student identification cards.

Little Valley Speedway is primed and ready to open its 2005 season. The specials-only facility, located on the Cattaraugus County Fairgrounds in Little Valley, NY, comes to life on Sunday May 29th at 6:30, with the Memorial Day Late Model Special, sponsored by Close Racing Supply. The RRS late models will be racing for a $3,000 first place check.

Barry's Chevrolet in West Union, OH and McFarland GM Center in Maysville Ky team up with Brushcreek Motorsports Complex to bring the World of Outlaw Stacker 2® Late Model Series to Peebles, OH.. On Friday May 20th the World of Outlaw Stacker 2® Late Model Series will make their first ever visit to Brushcreek Motorsports Complex.

A power failure, the result of severe weather, forced postponement Friday of the World of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series sanctioned $10,000 to win “Outlaw Night present by The University of Northwestern Ohio 60” at Limaland Motosports Park in Lima,OH. Officials of the WoO Stacker 2® Late Model Series and Limaland Motorsports Park will search for a possible reschedule date.
