Official of DIRT MotorSports ™ have amended dirt Late Model rule 1.04, Section 1.7 of the 2006 World of Outlaws Late Model Series, Mid-America Racing Series (MARS) and United Midwestern Promoters (UMP) rulebook’s. The amendment concerns the dimensions of the rear quarter-panels.
“The decision for the amendment was necessitated after receiving a huge amount of positive input”, stated Martin Willis, DIRT MotorSports™ VP – Technical Operations. “After several discussions with several parties at the recent Performance Racing Industry trade show as well as after the show it was necessary to amend the rule. DIRT MotorSports ™ thanks the valued input from teams, builders and drivers in helping finalize the 2006 rules.”
The rule amendment and amended drawings will be posted on the various web sites December 20th:

b) The quarter panels cannot exceed seventy six inches (76”) in width at any point behind the center of the rear hub as measured at the top.
c) Rear decks must taper from seventy six inches (76’’), as measured at the top, over the rear hubs, uniformly back to seventy two inches (72’’) at the spoiler, either, equally on both sides or on the left side only.
