Dirt to Dayton/Sprint Car Tournament

Ok since Mills brought it up :D :D

Just curious how many of you would be interested in a little for fun PS2 racing tournament. We could plan something on a Saturday afternoon in January. One day won't kill us to get away from our vehicles. We'll worry about when and where after we see how much of an interest is there. I have an idea. This is a just for fun thing.

We could do double elimination, with qualifying to get your spot in the bracket.

We can do Dirt to Dayton or Sprints or we could do both. I prefer sprints but if you're a rookie at it, it's a lot tougher to catch on to fast. Dirt to Dayton you can almost just step right in there.

You can count WingsRock and myself in.
 
You can count me in, but not on the sprints... I don't have it and haven't played it.. I'm sure Shannon and Jason would also take part. Shannon took to it right off the bat and did a pretty good job.
 
You forget Jason doesn't use the controllers very well - better have that wheel available. I can see it now, you all will have a lawn chair or race seat all rigged up with steering wheels so you can get the full effect. LOL
 
Dont laugh. Last year when I bought my new seat and the truck wasn't ready for it. I broke it in in my recliner, helmet and all racing sprints. I'd even rip a tearoff or two off every once in a while just for practice. Hey I was a rookie trying to get used to it all. hehe
 
Now we are talking about using regular controllers right?? No steering wheel setups, just the base units...
 
I do have a wheel but never use it. Actually it's Jr's. Just give me the anolog sticks and i'm good to go.
 
LOL - Bill I can totally see you helmet and all sitting there making vroom vroom noises and turning your body as you go into the turns. Pretty funny stuff there!
 
I didn't make vroom vroom noises. PS2 takes care of that part. :D I had to quit when Brenda kept finding tearoffs on the floor.
 
I WOULD BE UP FOR IT IS IT ANY THING LIKE THE PC DTR2 DTR AND SPRINTS ON THE PC.I DONT HAVE THE PS2 BUT I AM PLANNING ON GETTING IT SO COUNT ME IN ILL TRY IT

Right now it looks like around 8. Add those 3 and a few others and sounds like a tourney to me.
 
I figure since the next RAMS meeting is in DeSoto and at 2pm which means it should be done by 5pm that maybe after that would be a good time to have our little racing tournament. If you would like to join in let me know. If we get more than 8 I'll wheel the TV to the garage where it'd be a little roomier.

We'll do dirt and a sprint tournament. But they will be separate tournaments. Draw numbers to qualify then set up brackets. Fast qual will race slow qual. Double elimination. You don't have to be good. Just be able to have a good time.

If interested let me know. Only one house rule. Strongest thing you can drink is a caffeine filled Mountain Dew. Might let you slide with a big ol glass of kool aid.

If we have enough to move to garage, you just might want to bring a chair.
