CHILLICOTHE, OHIO-The anticipation is building, the racing forums are filled with anxious talk, and the track crew is working hard for what is expected to be the "biggest event" in Dirt Late Model racing with the running of this year's 27th annual Dirt Track World Championship October 18-19-20 at Jim Nier's K-C Raceway. The beautiful fall weather has allowed K-C personnel to make many improvements to the facility, adding fresh paint, improving logistics, and adding much new clay to the high-speed, K-C high banks.

The Speedway has purchased land adjacent to the track and has added extra drainage to the camping area, adding to the ever-growing K-C complex.
Camping is allotted on a first-come, first-serve basis with 50 spots in the main area and several hundred in the adjacent field. All camping is primitive and there is no need to call to make reservations. Campers are asked to conserve space and clean up after themselves by bagging trash and observing the rights of other campers.

Due to a couple accidents last year, no four-wheelers except for those with race teams in the pits are allowed. No ATV's are permitted in the camping area, however, golf carts are permitted. A five-mile per hour speed limit will be enforced to ensure the safety of all fans.

The DTWC office is handling race entries and reportedly the line-up is one of the most impressive ever with high profile drivers from all major sanctioning bodies and several yet-to-be named surprises. Not only will drivers be running for the prestige of winning the DTWC and its $50,000 pay-check, but they will also be eligible to run for the Jim Dunn Memorial non-qualifiers race and increased purse.

Modified drivers will be running for $2,500 to win and a chance to be the DTWC modified king for the next year, an honor that has bestowed Corey Conley and during the race's stay at K-C. 26 starters will race for $2,500 to win and $300 to start in the Modified main event.

Reinforced by last year's effort to get the race in, fans are reminded that barring rain at race time the race will go on if at all possible. Track management encourages fans to purchase tickets in advance to aid in transition through the admission gate and to ensure a good seat. Ticket sales are up and interest is much higher in this year's event, which has yielded two consecutive three-wide, highly contested racing to the finish at K-C's racy oval.

Fans are asked to check out K-C Raceway and its all-new playground and other important attractions for kids and adults of all ages. After the October 1 pre-sale deadline expires, tickets prices will be $50 for adult general admission, $15 children general admission ages 6-11 with children under age six admitted free for general admission.

Three-day pit passes will be $60.

Special reserved seating is also being made available for the 27th Annual Dirt Track World Championship presented by Gottarace.com. The top five rows of the grandstands, including the main grandstands and the new grandstands in turn four will be mandated reserved seating.

K-C is south of Chillicothe on SR 23, two miles out Blain Highway at Alma.
