There are a few of reasons for my dissapointment tonight [4-16-05] at S.F.C.R. One is track condition. The ruts in turns 2 & 4 seemed to give many drivers fits tonight. I hope the powers that be at S.F.C.R. will make all necessary repairs to the track before next weekend. Another was the Modified A- Main. Not because the 85G finished third, that is a great finish. As a fan, when the driver & car you cheer for has a 5th place finish [ after starting 16th],& a 3rd place in consecutive weekends, that tells me that Joe Geisler & the 85G should be a force to be reckoned with this year. What happened in the final lap of the race is what I don't understand.Mike "hurricane" Francis cut on the inside of the 85G, had to go on the inside birm to do it,wasn't even on the track.Francis shoved the 85G through turns 1 & 2, Joe had to ease off the gas to keep Mike from putting him into the back straightaway wall. This questionable act by the "hurricane" allowed Casey Burch to take the lead & the checkard flag.I'm not going to resort to name calling,or even hold a grudge against Mike. I know Joe won't. He will wait for his oppritunity to race Mike again & beat him fair & square,as he would have tonight.I hope there is an explanation for what Mike did or at least an apology to Joe. I know "rubbin' is racin' " & all the other sayings, but not when you have to leave the track to do it.As it stands now at 3:20 AM sunday april 17 2005,I have lost respect for the "hurricane", and that is the most dissapointing reason of all.
