First order of business on tap for this double feature night of racing was the rained out features from the 2nd of Aug. Mini Mods came out first after hot laps. Ronnie Richardson (15) came out on top, with Floyd Clinard, Jr. (05) coming home in second. Dale McCord (31) ended up in the third spot with Daryl Johnson (30) finishing out in fourth, and Michael Dial (Z2) finishing out the top five.

The UMP Late Models came out next to give the track a go around for their rained out feature of 20 Laps. Pole sitter Chuck Proctor (27) took home the big money with the first spot, with Randle Sweeney (33) trailing close behind. Ralph Wiles (63) finished up in third, Richard Frost (15) taking home fourth and Mike Chandler (51) rounding up the top five.

Pro Street Stocks came out third on the rainout feature lineup. Matt Potter (64) came out on top, and the 98 of Tommy Harris finished up second. The 44 of Tyrone Dossett finished up third. Fourth place was earned by Larry Hamm (93), and Don Young took his 41 machine to the fifth spot.

The last rainout feature was the Street Stock division. Dorris McCord (45) showed the field to the checkered flag for the first spot; Roy Brewington (117) came home in second. Don Everett (9) finished up in the third spot, Ronnie Hedgepath (H55) topped out in fourth and Matt Musser in the (8) finished out the top five.

Now on to the festivities for this weeks racing action. All I can say it was a night of substitutions. In the UMP Late Model qualifying it was Ralph Wiles driving his car with the F14 of Gary Frost on the side, setting the fast time. His time at the stripe was 13.280 sec. During UMP Open Wheel time trials it was Michael Lee in the 55 setting a fast time of 14.014 sec. Then Larry Hamm (93) set the quick time for the Pro Street Division with a time of 14.572.

The only heat races we ran were for those sanctioned by UMP, the Late Models and Open Wheels. During the Open Wheel quick six-dash pole setter Michael Lee (55) showed the other five how to get to the checkered flag the fastest. In the Heat race it was Curtis Rodenhader (28) who came around turn four to the flag the fastest. In the Late Model quick six dash, the 33 of Randle Sweeney showed the way. Perry McClain in the 57 topped the only other heat race for the Late Models.

Pro Streets kicked off the feature events for the night after a brief intermission and a few rides in the Ride Along car from some of the fans. Matt Potter (64) after starting in the fifth spot battled for 15 laps to claim the victory. Don Young (41) who started sixth followed Potter up through the field to finish in the second spot. Lucas Lee (55) came from the eighth spot to claim the third spot and Larry Hamm fell back three spots to the fourth spot. Larry Barbur, Jr. (54) climbed up to the fifth spot rounding out the top five.

The Mini Mods came out next with Don Donegan (54) showing the way in the top spot. Floyd Clinard, Jr (05) showed up in the second spot and Ronnie Richardson (15) brought home a third. Stan Ferry (2) came home fourth with Daryl Johnson (30) rounding out the top five.

Michael Lee in the (55) topped the Open Wheel field at the end of the race. Now here is the amazing part about the field of Modifieds, on the start Mike Neighbors (711N) was involved in an accident and broke some left front end pieces went to the rear of the field and then battled back to fight for the third spot until spinning in the last lap only to finish tenth. Another amazing story for this race is that the fourth spot starter of David Flowers (99) after battling for the lead takes a wild ride on the turn four wall, brings out the caution and goes to the rear of the field and once again not giving up and finishes the night off with a second. Charles Zimmerman (93) came home in third; the 77 of Clayton Miller came home in fourth. Mike Sweeney (25S) finished up in the fifth spot rounding out the top five.

In the Late Model feature it was once again Chuck Proctor (27) showing the way after a good battle with Randle Sweeney (33) who finally finished up in the second spot. Mike Chandler (51) who started fourth moved up one spot to finish third. Eddie Pace driving for Tony Albright in his (1) car finished up a strong fourth place, and Ralph Wiles driving for Gary Frost in his own 63/F14 rounded out the top five.

The last feature of the night was the Street Stocks. Doris McCord (45) once again showed the way to the checkered flag. Don Everett (9) brought home a second place, Dale Phillips (87) moved up to the third spot. The 38X of Buster Smith finished in the fourth spot and Roy Brewington (117) rounded out the top five.

Thank you to all the fans and drivers who support us every weekend and make sure to come out this weekend while we have a Demo Derby going on with all regular racing action.
