Double file restarts?????

I know i am just wasting my time, but what do you all think about nascar style double file restarts in the feature. By that i mean allow the lapped cars to be in front on the bottom groove and the lead lap cars lined up on top.this would eliminate the use of the cone and allow the leaders to race hard for the win without causing or getting wrecked by slower traffic. also this would allow the lapped cars to get a lap back if they can race past the leaders.

Odds of allied going for this, slim. but i am bored and thought i would see what the others think.

I just know if i get lapped, i dont want to be the cause of someone not winning.

Sounds good, But it will never happen.
I think the lap cars would still get in someones way in turns 1/2, the leaders would probably clear the lap traffic which would make for better racing for the win. But that means Allied would have to change something.

i like this idea i hope it does happen and if enough people read this and post that they do want this and if a lot of people contact allied maybe this might happen i would eventualy like to see the delaware double file but this a step in the right direction come on everybody lets get this done.:cool:
 
I just think it would make for better safer racing. the last thing anyone wants to do is get hurt or tear their equipment up.this should be the simple solution.

Ok Demo your leading the feature and you just worked your butt off passing those lap cars to put a little distance between you and the hot shoe. Now the yellow comes out and the hot shoe gets a free pass around those same lap cars and now he's on your rear and will probably pass you go into the first corner. Bet you wouldn't like that.
Lap cars need to go in the position they were running, If they hold their line the faster cars will pass them.
 
if i get beat by a faster car, that is fine. it happens all the time. this is something nascar does, so it will probably give an advantage to the toyotas,(lol crumps). but really, i dont want to tear up somebodys or my own stuff to get to the front. and i wont. but some people will knock everyone out of the way, lapped cars included to get up there. this is a class that pays very little and i think this change would prevent a lot of tore up racecars. once again, this is just my opinion, and allied would never go for this. i am just trying to spark up a discussion. thanks, Nathan Portell
 
I'm gonna have to say that I agree with Nathan. It's not a bad idea, but I'm not sure if I'd go for the "Lucky Dog" pass. I do however like the idea of double file restarts. I know that other drivers like me who wouldn't have alot of money to fix a wrecked car would possibly agree. Let's see if we can get this done. Let me know what ya think.

I knew the race was over when Homer was out front with 1 lap to go and then two lap cars till second place car, but man it got interesting after that.

Man........ There were Buechting's everywhere I looked!!!!!:eek: I feel sorry for poor Gerald, he must have been a nervous wreck.

Double file restarts would be good, but it will never happen. Man it was interesting for 2nd-6th sat though. Holy Crap!
 
does anyone think Delaware restarts would be better? That gives the leader the choice of which lane he wants on the start and still gives a double file restart from second on back. lap cars are lap cars for a reason and need to be out of the way of the leaders.
 
The leader had to pass them the hard way, it's not fair to him to let the 2nd place car pass them on the yellow. All the lap cars have to do is hold thier line. Most times the front runners will pull next to lap cars on the yellow and tell them where they will be passing them.
 
Thanks Gary. I thought it was kinda cool to be "up there" even if it was because I was getting lapped :D
