Inside Line Promotions - JACKSON, Minn. (Sept. 4, 2018) - Jack Dover has certainly found his groove this summer and it showed last weekend during the Midwest Power Equipment 360 Nationals presented by DeKalb/Asgrow at Jackson Motorplex.

Dover won the opening night and placed third on Night No. 2 to garner the most preliminary points, which set the table for a massive $10,000-to-win victory during the marquee DeKalb/Asgrow presents the Midwest Power Series by GRP Motorsports, Midwest Sprint Touring Series and Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series sanctioned show.

"We've had a fast race car all year long and I feel like we can contend for wins anywhere we go," he said. "Jackson Motorplex has always been one of my favorite tracks and we've run well there. It seemed like everything clicked from the time we unloaded Friday afternoon until the final checkered flag on Sunday night."

Dover kicked off the competition on Friday by qualifying fifth quickest before winning a heat race from the fifth starting position. That lined him up on the outside of the front row for the A Main.

"I didn't get a great start originally, but there was a caution so we got a second chance at it," he said. "We took off better and right into the lead. It was pretty smooth sailing from that point."

Dover won by more than five seconds to become the first repeat winner at the track this season.

He continued his strong performance on Saturday by timing in eighth quickest during qualifying, advancing from fifth to fourth place in a heat race and gaining a position to finish third in the A Main.

"We had such a great points night on Friday that I knew we needed to be consistent on Saturday to earn one of the four lock-in positions into Sunday's dash," he said. "We had an efficient night and did what we needed to do, which made us the high-points driver."

Dover accumulated the most preliminary points and therefore locked into the dash, which determined the first two rows for Sunday's A Main. He won the dash from the pole to earn the pole position for the 30-lap main event.

"I just concentrated on getting a good start in both the dash and main event," he said. "We're really confident in our car and I'm driving well so that gives me extra confidence. We led the feature early before Terry McCarl mixed it up with us for a bit through the middle portion of the race. Then Thomas Kennedy was right there at the end when we had a couple of late red flags. I just knew I needed to hit my marks and make smart decisions. It all worked out."

Dover held onto the top spot to capture one of the biggest paying races of his career. It marked his 11th triumph of the season.

He plans to return to action this Saturday at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Neb., with the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints. Dover enters the race atop the championship standings.
