Driver-Sponsor Appreciation Night, Along With First Kid’s Club Event of the Year

Macon, IL – Macon Speedway will be hosting their first Driver-Sponsor Appreciation Night of the season this coming Saturday, April 18th. It will also be the first of five Kid’s Club events of the year with exciting activities planned for all of Macon Speedway’s young fans to participate in.

Saturday night’s schedule will feature all five UMP divisions, including the Late Models, Modifieds, Sportsmen, Street Stock, Pro Hornets, and the Amateur Hornets. Steve Sheppard, Jr. of New Berlin was able to hold off defending champion, Kyle Logue in an exciting Late Model feature while Decatur’s own Mike Pickering picked up two feature wins in the Sportsman and Street Stock divisions. Heidi Hames charged from 17th to the runner-up position crossing the checkered flag behind another Decatur racer, Sam McCoy.

This weekend will be the second edition to Macon Speedway’s “Best Fan in the Stands” where a lucky fan will win $100 if their name is draw from the box after the Modified feature event. Mike Durbin, Sr. was this past week’s lucky recipient.

Macon Speedway offers fun family entertainment every Saturday night from April to September. With many fan favorite events on schedule, including three “Night of NASCAR Stars” nights planned and the famous Herald and Review 100, UMP’s premier SummerNational event, 2009 is stacking up to be a memorable year. Gates will open at 5:00 and racing will start at 7:30. Adults are $10 and kids 12 and under get in for free with a paying adult.
