Drivers who 'win too much'

You can always tell who is winning races by the number of people who complain about them. It has happened since racing began and will continue forever it seems. This year it's Korte in late models, Naeger and Keller in sportsman. How about a roll call of local drivers who had much success on Gateway area tracks at one time or another? Let's keep this positive please! There's enough negativity on these posts already. I'll admit I booed some of these guys when they beat my favorites, and cheered when my faves won all the time. I nominate Don Klein, Russ Wallace, Wib Spaulding, Jerry Sifford, Pat Walsh, Louie Jansen, Bill Utz, Mike Hammerle, Len Gettemeier, Kevin Gundaker, Ed Dixon, Mike Wallace, Bo Smith, Tommy Seets . . . .

Highland- Eilers in the sportsmen, Zbinden in the pro-4, and Faust/Zobrist in the late models

Belleville- Cummins in the sportsmen, Dixon in the late models

How about Dennis Sellers at Highland. The Flying Duece seemed to win every week. Also, Mark Faust at Highland.

I can remember Nick Lyons having a great run in the crates in 2007.

Wib Spalding in the early 70's. He had a streach at Tri-City where he won both the sprint car (#56) and late model (#444) features 4 weeks in a row and 5 out of 6 weeks. I remember some of the fans saying " just give the money to Spalding and let the rest of em race." I was a young Wib Spalding fan then and I remember just how awesome it felt seeing my hero winning all of those races.

How about Brian Bielong in the mod?? #73??
or even in the #70 mod.

im suprised no one said him..
he'll bve winnin a lot more this year also.. bville was just the beginning..

and kloos pretty much where ever he goes.

Mike Harrison in the sportsman at Brownstown and everywhere else, my self in the sportsman class, Jimmy Cummins, Steve Miesel, Josh Jackson at Tri-City. Brian Diveley in his mod at Godfrey, Jason Bohnienstile (sp) at Godfrey and highland, Matt Mortland, Mark Luek...there is no doubt the STL area has some MONSTER talent!!! If Rick and I could get our Custom Race Engine freshend and out a couple of times this year we plan to race next year and I hope I can get a handle on that car as quickly as I have done in the past. The Rocket chassis is ready to go and waiting on the motor. I would love to get some seat time this year if possible.

Ya it stinks to go to the track almost every weekend and see the same driver win. we missed a few races because we have watched Korte pull in. Last weekend we were in the parking lot working on our kart waiting to go in and along came Korte. We chose not to go in thinking he was going to win them all then he broke in the mod. Not saying NOTHING bad about him at all!!!! just he is on a roll. There is great racing in just about all classes every weekend.

Bill Meyer, Norm Cox, C.C. Corbin, Pat King, Bill Laycock, Gary Barker( hobby stocks @ TCS ) just to add a few more.

What about Larry Phillips?? I can remember being a kid and standing at the fence watching Larry before the race sitting calmly in the car smoking, then kicking everyone's tale....and again and again and again..
