Lebanon,Mo.Despite a 2 hour slow steady afternoon rain, the Firecracker special at the LebanonMidwaySpeedway provided plenty of tight racing action along with a beautiful fireworks show at intermission with 72 raceteams checking into the pits.

The USRA Modified feature had Rusty Dukes grab the opening lead on lap 1 after a 3 wide battle when the green dropped with Donny Stacy and Josh Woody.Dukes would open-up a half a straight lead.Kris Jackson made his forward move to grab the second spot on lap 4 and was trying to run down the leader. while Stacy,Donnie Fellers and 11th place starting and point leader Eric Hudson were battling for third place. The caution waved on lap 12 for Stacy as the Arkansas driver got sideways in turn 4.On the restart Jackson tried staying with the leader Dukes as again Dukes was strong on the restart.Jackson's run would end with problems on lap 17 as he pulled into the pits. The battle behind Dukes was tight as Hudson took over the runner-up spot with Fellers,Justin Neuman and Jeff albright moving quickly.A lap 18 restart for debris allowed Hudson one last shot at the lead, but Dukes pulled away taking his first win of the season with Hudson,Fellers,Neuman and Albright completing the top 5.A strong run for veteran Wayne Graybeal who started 16th and finished a fast moving 6th place.

The FactoryStocks provided a new winner this week as Sundance Keepper overcame a smoking right front isue during his heat race to lead all 15 laps of a very quick paced feature.Keepper used the outside lane to take the lead on the opening lap from Brad Gideon with defending champion Tim Petty and Lonnie Henderson in tow. With Keepper setting a fast pace,Petty and Henderson ran side by side for several laps until lap 8 when Petty took over a solid third.During the closing laps Gideon was closing the gap as Keepper was hitting lapped traffic to get within 5 car lengths, but Keepper wasn't to be denied and grabbed his first win of the season with Gideon,Petty,a fast moving Donnie Miller and Henderson completing the top 5.Current point leader Bob Gustin came from 11th to grab the sixth place spot as 12 of the 17 starters were on the lead lap.

The Bomber Class saw a new winner this weekend as current Springfield point leader Robert high made his first visit to the track this season and grabbed the opening lead and held off a late race surge from Shawn Strong to record his first win of the season.High and Midway point leader Joe Francis battled early as Ted Ballinger,Jack Hamer,Strong and Brandon Waters were battling for positions.Only one caution flew in the 15 lap feature early so plenty of position swapping was going on.On lap 7,Strong moved around Francis to take over second place and tried several times as High held off the challanges.Strong,Francis,Ballinger and Hamer completed the top 5.

Adam Lowrance and Robert Doublin ran side by side from lap 2 until lap 8 as Lowrance held off a last lap surge by Doublin in capturing his third PureStock feature of the season.Doublin grabbed the opening lead from his outside frontrow starting spot as Lowrance and John McGinnis were charging hard.Lowrance used the middle groove to run down the leader Doublin and then the duo showed the capacity crowd side by side racing as McGinnis was trying to find a third lane.Following the to two to the finish were Korey Barker,McGinnis and a fast moving Tom Monahan at the line.

THe LateModelSportsman feature saw Bill Joiner grab the opening lead with son Bennie a close second as the Newell Racing family of JC and point leader Ben were coming quickly.2 wide side by side racing was the action until a lap 9 caution came out from Micheal Jones. On the restart,Joiner went to the top side as point leader Ben Newell shot to the inside lane in turn 1 to take the lead on lap 10.Bennie Joiner was coming quickly as Bill Joiner and JC Newell made contact in turn 1 sending both drivers to the rear. From there Ben Newell held off a last lap surge from Bennie in taking his 5th feature win of the season with Bennie Joiner,Clinton Betts and Micheal Jones completing the top 5.
