The Powri Midget season opener was a great success Saturday night in DuQuoin IL. Brad Loyet in the Loyet Motorsports, Spike Chassis, Ford Esslinger, #01 and Casey Shuman in the Don Moore Music Publications, Spike Chassis, Gaerte Ford, #10 battled it out in the feature event w/ dramatic fashion. In the end it was Casey Shuman that became the successer. Congrats to Don and Casey on there first feature victory of the 2010 season!

This was my first time to one of these races and they really put on a GREAT show!!! And they kept the show running smooth... I will be back!!!

This was my first experience with an indoor show. Races were good...that inside berm made for some interesting racing. However, I sure hope they work on the ventilation of the Southwestern Illinois Center before the Bull Ring Midget Nationals show in December.

If you did not like the racing last night you were not at Du Quion very good show everyone needs to check it out you will love it. Good job last night Shane on your 6th place in the feature. Look forward to this year.

LOL!!! My eyes and nose was burning so bad it wasn't funny. I am surprised they get away with that.

that why i quit going over there. there ventilation ****s over there. i love going over there and support the track, but it just not right to sit there and let your eyes burn.

I honestly didn't think the fumes were too bad last night. In past years when the air coming in thru the back door has been extremely cold--and as a result, heavier, forcing the air downward--the fumes have been worse. But it's really no different than going to an early or late season race at a track with a covered grandstand. You just have to remember to bring some eye drops.

Here's some video from last night. I'll post some more videos when I get them uploaded from the phone.

what's this "Bullring Midget Nationals Show in December". Did they announce that Sat night?

The Bull Ring Midget Nationals has been the show that has been run in Kansas City at Kemper Arena the past couple of years. It is Midgets and Micros along with usually dwarf/mini-mod type cars.

The announcer was talking about some races in December that might pay $10,000.00 to win
This is not final Just in the works
St.Louis Motorsports Review taped all of the heat races(14) and the 2 Features
I hope to have some on the show soon

Looks like there hasn't been an official announcement yet, but I've heard that the Kemper arena has become too expensive to lease and they're moving it to DuQuoin.

Because the promoters of the Bull Ring Nationals owe all of us alot of money including some $17,000 plus to Joe Loyet, Its only fair to throw in that next years event and promoters of the DuQuoin event have no association with those from Kansas City. The event at DuQuion has the capabilty to be a big success with a few minor adjustments, lets hope things get worked out with the ventilation and the large car count the track will see so it stays racey for the fans.
