Steve said at the drivers meeting this morning,(saturday), that sundays race may possably be cancelled, due to lack of pre-entries. I left the track before I heard a final answer.
I just wanted to left you long travelers know of the possability.
Keep checking this post, I'm sure someone stayed today, and can update later this evening.

thats not a surprise, we quit racing that series when it cost us over $100 for me and my son to get in and him to race and only for a trophy in the jr division, that is ridiculous!! we went to quarter midgets

There were no kart features with more than 7 starters, and only about 40 karts on hand. There was also virtually zero fan attendence. But with the near zero degree weather, and the snow around DuQuoin, no one should be surprised by the low turnout. While it would have been better had there been some full feature fields, the racing really wasn't too bad.

but, how do they justify charging jr's a $50 entry fee, a $25 pit pass for the driver and $25 for dad to pit, $25 for mom to watch, $25 for little brother to watch. And only give trophys to the jr's? and expect any jr driver to come back, I dont want to race in the winter that bad. We can race 3-4 weekends at our local track for that kind of money in just a couple more months. Stock car races in the area are only $25-$30 to race. What is the justification to charge so much for a trophy class? Im not being an *****, I am really serious. We wanted to race all the winter races but after the first one, we were charged so much for the next few that we had to quit.

I agree. It seems that if they're going to charge the kid classes that much, at a minimum they should award savings bonds to the little guys that finish near the front in their class feature.

Pit passes are $15 on the big shows, and $10 on the sat. shows. That $10 on sat. gets you in all day, that includes the flat track motorcycle and ATV races that evening. I don't agree with the $50 entry for the kid classes that aren't paying back the big bucks, but the pit passes are reasonable. If you paid $25 each, you got screwed. It should have been $15 each(on sun.), $50 entry, and FREE heated indoor pits. $10 each(on sat.), $25 entry, and FREE indoor pits.
My only complaint about the place, is that, Nace is a motorcycle man. He really doesn't know much about kart racing, but he's trying. He really needs to get a handle on the cheating though. He needs better tech. personel, not family and friends of the racers.

Had 80% pay back for Juniors paying top 4 spots for the $50 entry fee. The last race we won the Jr2 and received $200 for the win. Wasnt really any different than any where else you run. Pit passes were $10, $15 on sun. Had 2 jrs running and 1 adult cost $115 for 3 entrys and 4 pit passes on sat. Just my opinion but thats not that bad for a day of racing. Ill support Duquion racing. He refunded everyones pre entry money for the cancelled race for today, most promoters would not do that, they would just roll it over for the next race.

obviously we were overcharged, but i clearly told them we were racing. That may have been in the past but he has went to giving trophys for jr's. Do you think it is fair to charge THAT much for a trophy class when everyone else is racing for $300 and being charged the same price to race? I dont think so......
