Friday nite practice after 6pm

Sat. Regular race, limited to 100 racers, either through pre-entries, or first come, first race. I believe there is an 80% payback, but not sure. $25 entry/$10 pit pass.
Entries limited for time, due to motorcycle races in the afternoon

Sunday. $300 to win in the adult stock classes, $60 entry/$15 pit pass no limit on entries.

Doors open both days at 7:30am, drivers meeting @9:15, hot laps right after meeting.

Those of you looking for some good racing, big money, and fast action, this is the place to be.

cancelled

Due to the fact that there were not enough pre-enties, Mr Nace decided to cancel Sunday's races. He does not want to lose any money.

I believe the low attendance was swayed by the money race held in Springfield today, but some of those racers would probably have come down to Duquoin Sunday for the double header.
Those of you who do not agree with Mr Nace decision, I would suggest you call him and express your feelings.
1-270-217-4775 or 1-270-442-7532

We cant have a race without a promoter, but we need racers to commit to be there also.

Just my opinions.

How many Karts were there Saturday?
Most people planned on going Sunday but due to the last cancelation why preregister. I dont think u can blame Springfield cause they werent running last time he canceled. He should of give it a chance cause all hes doing now is killing the kart count for next year.

I think 04tobin is correct their are some risk you take when you promote a race. I didnt have the money to pre-enter but thank goodness i looked on the computor saturday night and saw the post about the race being called off other wise we would have drove up their for nothing. Its a good thing Bill France didnt give up after he lost money on the first races he promoted.

sad about the facts

I think you both bring up good points, but you racers need to call Steve and let him hear you. He does not read these forums, and as you have probably noticed, it is people like myself, I refin, tobin, pbracing, and goodys78 that help to let folks know what is going on.
Last months race was put up against the Daytona 500, this month a money race at Springfield kept down the Sat. attendance, along with the fact of many racers knowing what setup they needed to use on Sunday, felt they didn't need the Sat. race for practice.
I feel that if Mr Nace wants people to show up, he is going to have to take the chance on a smaller Sunday crowd at least once to find out. The racers will come if he advertises. Word of mouth does not always get to everyone interested. A PROMOTER PROMOTES, RACERS RACE. Give the racers a chance to race on Sunday, without going against another big event like a Daytona 500......Just my opinions

Big Money

I hear what you guys are saying but if I were him and did not have enough people that I was sure was coming I do not belive I would put up my money. I cant remember if it is $3500 or $4500 to rent that building for the day. I do not belive any of you would either. So maybe you should keep that in mind before you give steve a hard time. But that is just my openion. Andy

Promoters usually Promote!!

Duqouin is an awesome facility for kart racing!! Agree??We all want winter racing, that's unanimous.
Steve is a good hearted person(jmo) BUT,he's NO promoter. He needs to be a salesman, push his product!!
I've told him till I'm blue in the face, get on these forums, answer our questions and inform everyone, when, where, and what!!! Deaf ears can't hear!!
Racer Rik,myself,Pual, and a few others have been doing his job now for over a year.I have resigned.
Keep calling Steve, leave messages, fill his voice mail, but don't stay home waiting for his call.
Duqouin could be great, but not under the current program.JMO
I'm sorry if this affends anyone.Peace Out:D

Guys. I was on my way over to watch the vintage cars, and take pictures for The Drivers Seat; Our area racing newspaper. I had no idea it was cancelled, because the vintage club was never contacted. I arrived in town, found the facility, and not a car to be seen anywhere.....Highly disappointed was an understatement!! 89 miles driven, no pics or articles on carts,or vintage cars for the paper. Not to mention the publicity that could have been gained, by our paper doing a story on your track. I had no idea it was even there till 4 months ago. I had with me a brochure for the Rams ministocks, to give information about the organization, and the fact that we too would be interested in racing at your facility. Thats a class of cars that the promotor doesnt have now. We run an outdoor track (Semo Racway) a few times a year. I assume it is similar in size to DuQuion. This could have been more benefit than loss in the long run to your promotor. Although none of us can afford to lose $3500 in a day, lets face it.. Not without GOOD money backing us.. I for one will call the man and voice my opinion, for his good and ours. Your calls along with mine would be appreciated. If we can set up another time, to give you some publicity, that would be great!! Jason Brewington, Fredericktown Mo.

You're not the only one who was a little pertubed about driving down there for nothing. Oh well, at least I got to see the Swansea Applebee's car show on the way back.

Remember that Steve is a motorcycle guy. he's told us time and time again, he knows nothing about karting. As far as I knew, he was only doing the building, insurance, and scheduling, I thought the coulterville crew was still running the karting show. The season is over, and no one has seen a single points position sheet, from the first race on, Hell, I might have kept my stuff a little longer, if I knew that I was close.

I have called and left msg for Steve also and never heard back from him yet either. I wont give give him a hard time cause I apperacite what he does for us. Thanks to you guys > racer ric,tobin,pbracing,goodys78 for keeping us in the know. When we ran the first race there and went to the trailer to get our trophy I spoke to the lady who seem to be in charge and gave her my fax# and e-mail adress and told her if she would send me the results I would post them on this site & bob's 4cyl for them and never got any info from them I also did the same thing after the 3 race and they never sent anything again. So I hope to see everyone there this winter(06) if we get the chance. Its a great place to run and with some promotion I think it could really grow to be a HUGE EVENT. So lets keep trying. Heck maybe Jeff Hopper could get a shot at renting the place and put on a show it seems that he does a good job of getting the word out. what you think?

I wouldn't bother calling him, he never seems to respond and if he did you'd get a smart @$$ response from him. At least that's what I've gotten every time I've spoken to him.

You will not get the results from the features. They do not score the entire field. They only score the karts in the money. That came straight from the horses mouth.

I'll give him a hard time even though I want to race at that facility again this year. If he isn't given feedback both positive and negative we are doomed to suffer the same problems over and over again.

Drop the prices. I can run two classes in Springfield for just about the same money he wants to enter one class.

So it's basically a test and tune for any karts not in the money, yet they all have to pay an entry fee. Small wonder why no one shows up.

You got it. I love racing down there it is a great indoor facility but if I never see Nace again it'll be too soon.

i tried to tell everyone what i thought about what was going on in du quoin over a month ago and no one would listen then. we are done with mr nace and have been for months now, we saw the light a while back, i see very few people jumping on his bandwagon these days, he wouldnt return my calls was my biggest complaint other than the cost for jr's to run

prostock32 what have you decided to do this summer are you going back to the sprint track or are you going to stay with the ovals??
