R.A.C.E., 2005 East Bay “Winternationals” Point/Contingency Fund over $80,000 for the Lucas Oil NARA DirtCar Series Sanctioned Events

LEXINGTON, KY- The Lucas Oil NARA DirtCar Series sanctioned events at East Bay Raceway Park’s 2005 “Winternationals” February 7th – 12th, in association with Racers Alliance Concerning Engines, (R.A.C.E.) will offer drivers a tremendous points/contingency fund that has increased to over $80,000. R.A.C.E. founders Bill Schlieper and John Schlieper Jr. have put together this program for the racers that choose to compete at the 2005 “Winternationals.” R.A.C.E. is currently finalizing the payouts for the week long point/contingency fund and the point/contingency fund continues to grow each day.

A week long point system will be used to determine the 2005 “Winternationals” Champion presented by R.A.C.E. The 2005 “Winternationals” points champion will receive $10,000 in cash and additional product certificates valued over $5,000 from various manufactures that have signed on to sponsor the R.A.C.E. point/contingency program at East Bay Raceway Park’s 2005 “Winternationals.” Not only will the points champion be receiving tremendous awards in cash and products over $15,000, but the top 20 in the final points standings will receive a minimum of $1,000 in cash and product awards. In addition to the point/contingency fund, each nights racing program R.A.C.E. will offer racers additional products to the top finishers of the feature event, consolation races, 1st non-qualifier that doesn’t transfer to the feature and the fastest qualifier each night will receive a special award.



R.A.C.E. also announces an Engine Builders Challenge will also be a part of the program all week sponsored by PBM Performance Parts. A separate point system program will determine the top engine builder of the 2005 “Winternationals” with the top three places in the final points awarding cash prizes to the engines builders who participate. At this time there are nine engine builders signed on to be part of the PBM Performance Parts “Engine Builders Challenge”. They include: Clements, Cornett, Gaerte, Jay Dickens, Malcuit, Larry Wallace, Pro Power, Grover Racing Engines, RaceTek and SMS.



R.A.C.E. has received tremendous support for this program from racers, manufactures, businesses and individuals. One prominent individual that has contributed to the point/contingency fund for the “Winternationals” is NASCAR driver Jimmy Johnson. Jimmy is a strong supporter of open competition in the dirt late model industry and feels that this form of racing is a great training ground for young drivers to develop throttle control.
