Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (June 6, 2007) – American Sprint Car Series founder and President Emmett Hahn was among the honorees at the 18th Annual National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Induction banquet held in Knoxville, IA, on Saturday, June 2.

After a stellar driving career that included a pair of NCRA Super Modified championships, a handful of Tulsa Speedway titles and a State Fair Speedway title, Hahn turned to the promotional side of auto racing.

Hahn founded the American Sprint Car Series in 1992. The series has evolved into the nation's most prolific Sprint Car sanctioning body with a dozen Regional series in addition to the National Tour, adding up to approximately 250 ASCS events in 2007 alone.

Hahn and Lanny Edwards also co-promote the wildly successful Chili Bowl Nationals in Tulsa, OK, each January, an event that has grown in national stature and prominence since its inaugural run in 1987.

Hahn joins Edwards, who was inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame last year.

Both Hahn and Edwards were inducted into the National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame in Sun Prairie, WI, last year as well.
