engine refresh

Ok I'm buying a monte carlo with a 358 has 30 nights is it worth 1400 to have it refreshed at a machine shop or should I just break it down do rings bearings new cam lifters and timing set and call it good.

i would do a leakdown test on it, and go from there. that determines what you do. nobody on here can tell you what kind of shape the motor is in. if it were mine, it would come all apart before you have a problem. problems are costly.

freshen it up for sure! FYI.. a stock block refresh from me is around $750 if nothing is broke. -pm for more info!
