Entry Prices...

ok so I am a little confused as to why the website and flyers said
$10 grandstand
$25 pit passes

and ended up paying
$12 grandstands
$30 pit passes

But it is what it is...

Anyone know (Bruce or the track?) How much are the entry fees this weekend 6/25/11??

Thanks

Great Racin Everyone last weekend!

Well it isn't uncommon for tracks to charge additional fees when they bring in a sanctioning body, such as MOWA.

I might be wrong but Tri City would have charged $18 if they wouldn't have gotten rained out.

When tracks bring in these special shows for fans it costs extra money, some charge the tracks fees, other the pay out is higher, so it isn't uncommon for a price jump on those nights.

As for this weekend, prices will be the normal price $10 and $25

most of them have entry fees to race, by raising prices it doesnt do the other classes any good. they pay more and get nothing back. I have seeen tri city have a lot of special shows and the price stays the same..

i understand that this new series MOWA is just getting started, and i understand that the track would charge more for a special show, but it wasn't really a special show because there were only a hand full of drivers that don't race here anymore came and raced. they use to be regulars but they went to other tracks to race on saturday night. it is just my opinion but we basically seen the same drivers but paid more to see them. not trying to cause problems but that i think is how everyone if you talk to them feels. chris

No one can argue that point and I bet if you ask the track promoters they were not over joyed by the low turn out of the "promised" MOWA cars. I think promises were made (14-17 MOWA CARS) but they were not delivered.

I don't know I have seen SFCR put on several $2000 to win Sprint shows, $1000 to win A Mods and $600 to win pure street and B Mod races every year without charging any additional entry fees. Do they get any points for that?

I know that the track wasn't pleased with the choice to charge extra (In LIEU OF THE POOR MOWA TURN OUT), but they were following suit with Tri City raising their prices for the MOWA show. Did it turn out to be a bad choice, most people think so and I don't hear anyone arguing that point. But they made the call to raise the price, several 100 had came through the gates before the low MOWA car count was determined and at that point it was too late to change prices.

I will say one thing the track did was, EVERY class, EVERY driver got a $5 starting pay increase. Was it enough, probably not to all, but I thought it was a good gesture on the tracks part to give that to the drivers.

Just my thoughts....

Only the top 4 in heats and top 10 in features are posted in race results. Tri City and Pevely give full results (Heats, B- Mains and Features) That is a bad deal to advertise one thing and show up and the prices at the gate are higher than you were expecting. It would be nice to see complete race results each week than the half a>> results that are printed.

Track never advertised a price for the race.

The results are the way they are, they own it not us. We can moan and groan all we want, but........

Some of the problem had to do with the fact the promoter for MOWA couldn't get the event trailer out because of a major flood that hit Jacksonville, IL. Plus with all the storms and the weather being precarious and no one knowing if races would be held, I'm sure that contributed to the low count of MOWA cars.

Bruce you gotta add pictures to the story..lol I've been to alot of sprint car shows and paid way more than what was charged for a nothing show so THANK YOU Corey and crew for putting on a great show for us fans!

actually, mowa did bring quite a few cars. What most people fail to realize is that several mowa cars are also SFCR regular drivers.
Jason Keith, Jimmy Hurley, A.J. Bruns, Corey Bruns, Jarred Hull, and Brad Greer are all guys who were included in the 14-17 cars promised. So you take those 6 plus Jim Moughan, ben wagoner, Brett Samonds, and rob and Jeremy standdridge, and thats a total of 11 MOWA cars.

I realize thats not 14-17 cars but the 22 cars that was there but on a great show, one of the best sprint features i've seen there in a long time.

It is all how you look at it I guess, I won't argue it being a great show. But the action the past 3 weeks in the sprint cars have been pretty darn good the feature has been Jimmy's until the last laps, when Worley would snap the lead in some pretty exciting passes, in the two weeks prior to last.

Your list is divided up into what I would guess most fans would call the local drivers and the series drivers. Still hard to call Jim Moughan anything but a local driver, just because of watching him every Saturday night, while growing up, back in THE DAY. But I wish Dean Jr was back running too.

But the racing has been good this year. I mean think about it you get to see some CRAZY fast Sprint cars, some great A MOD racing, and you can see the car that you passed on the way in on hwy 67 in the pure street class race and a Demo Derby to finish the night off... its GRRRREAT!

Track never adverrtised a price for the race.

This is the first chance I've had to get on the message board this week. The track's website says that Pit Passes are $25 and Grandstand is $10. If they don't change this information aren't they then advertising that as the price? The increased price could have been mentioned on the Track News where they stated MOWA was coming. I'm almost positive that the website was updated to reflect the increased admission prices for the Queen's Royale--so by not updating the website or posting something to contradict MOWA's press release (http://midwestopenwheel.com/2011/06/monster-energy™-sprint-series-has-big-weekend-in-store/) it seemed that it would be normal prices.

I don't have a problem with the increased admission (and I would have paid more than $12 to get in) but it could have been advertised prior to seeing the sign at the ticket booth. I think Tri-City was going to be $18, but was then changed to $15 (I haven't been there this year, but I think they charge $12 for a regular show).

It was a great night of Sprint Car racing and I'm hoping to make it back this Saturday for the $2K to win show. Completely off-topic, has the track ever thought about imposing a time limit for feature races?

I got to say that was a points for them to give each driver a extra 5 dollars. i am out with a hand injury so i didnt see any of that , but it was greatly apprecaited!

5.00 more

not all classes got 5.00 more i got the same amount as i did last week and finshed in same spot so thats not 5.00 more to start

I have been corrected, $5 was to start money so 11 to 2? got the extra $5 if you finished in top 10 you got normal payout. My fault I miss understood.

Bruuuuce, can I ask if you are speaking in an official capacity as a representative of SFCR? Because it seems you are. Rather than cloud a great night of racing with attacks and false statements about our series, financial arrangements, commitments etc., I would suggest that you confirm the facts to be true before you speak on behalf of the track.

It would seem from your posts that you have access to accurate information. Given that, I seriously doubt that SFCR told you that: 1. MOWA was paid or demanded a sanction fee, 2. That the track was not aware of approximately how many MOWA members would be attending until the gates opened.

BTW, Tri City was charging $15, not the $18 you said they were.

If you don't have access to accurate information, feel free to shoot us an email at mowasprints@gmail.com to get it before you continue to post facts that could not be further from the truth. We have no interest in harming the relationship between our series and SFCR by defending ourselves against your erroneous statements of 'fact'.

We have not been contacted with any particular complaint or expression of unhappiness from Cory, and I would hope that he would call if he had one. The only feedback we received was that it was an excellent night of racing and we are happy we were able to participate.

I responded via a pm to your claims, I knew MOWA wouldn't like the response to questions about gate prices.
