Lebanon,Mo.-Sat Night concluded the Double-Header Weekend at the Lebanon Midway Speedway as over 105 Race teams checked into the pits for the Amsoil Night at the races.
Action started with the SMRS Midgets as action was fast in the heat races as early evening favorite Chad McDaniels and Jasiel Randolf filpped early ending there night.
The feature would see point leader Joe Boyles start on the pole with 3rd generation driver Todd McVay right behind him. From the drop of the green,Boyles and McVay put on a bumper to bumper battle over the 19 car starting grid. While Boyles and McVay wagged a great battle,Greg Loecker and Cody Brewer were charging forward, but all eyes were on Rick Forbes as he found the high-side early and was coming quickly.A lap 5 yellow for Mallory Armfield closed up the pack and Boyles along with McVay were battling. On lap 15,Forbes was coming quick as McVay tries several times to go inside of leader Boyles. On lap 18,Forbes went along side of McVay and Boyles stayed low as coming out of turn 2,McVay made a smart move faking inside and sliding outside to take the lead as Forbes was using the cushion up high to take over second.Heading for the checkered,McVay used the middle lane and held off Forbes by half a car length to grab the win followed by Forbes,Boyles,Loecker and Friday Night winner Mike Hess.
The Amsoil Challange for the Winged Sprints would see the highest purse ever for this class as $1000 was waiting for the winner. Steve Lawrence and Dustin Arnall brought the field down to the green as Lawrence grabbed the early lead with Jonathan Cornell in hot pursuit along with Eric Todd.Lawrence was setting a blistering pace as Cornell and Eric Todd battled for second place.A yellow for Clint Tod bunched the field up and at the restart,Eric Todd pressured leader Lawrence with Cornell right in the hunt as track point leader Joe Todd and JP Compton were coming fast along with Mike Larson and Mike White.
On lap 8,Eric Tood overtook Lawrence as Cornell followed. On lap 10,Joe todd,Compton and Dustin Arnall along with White got together in turn 2 ending there night except for White who continued. On the restart,Cornell applied pressure as Eric Todd held off the chaalanges as Clint Todd and John Rowland were battling and White was coming fast through the field.
Heading to lap 20,Todd opened up a 4 car length lead as Cornell was running out of time.As the checkered waved,Todd claimed the challange as Cornell, early leader Lawrence,Clint Todd and Mike White completed the top 5.
The Bomber feature was action all the way as new point leader Justin Stoufer sat on the pole with Missy Shaw on his outside.Stoufer shot to the lead with Shaw on his bumper as Bill Roberts was coming from the third row.Stoufer opened up a small lead over the 22 car field but the battle was for second as Shaw,Roberts,Aaron York and Mike Piercey were battling hard.Coming for the checkered,Stoufer would grab his 5th win of the season as Missy Shaw,Bill Roberts,Aaron York all got together just short of the finish line taking them out and letting Dusty Rhoades grab the runner-up spot followed by Mike Piercey,Richard Roberts and Shawn Nations.
The FactoryStock feature would see Kansas driver Bobbye Williams grab the early lead and never look back taking the win followed by Friday Night winner Todd Cook,Bobby Ratterree,Ron Myers and point leader Randy Berry.
The Final event of the evening was a 100 lap Enduro race. The crowd wanted some water on the track,so the water truck came out and put fresh water on the surface.Enduro Cars are supposed to be pure stock, well the crowd was asked if they wanted it to be run backwards, and for 100 laps the cars ran in reverse racing order.Rex McCroskey grabbed the early lead with Bobbye Williams on his heels in the 3 wide start.Roger young started to assert himself and became the new leader after McCroskey and Williams had caught traffic.Young looked strong, but McCroskey grabbed the lead on lap 23 again until he slid sideways on lap 32 giving the lead to Young.Williams grabbed the lead on lap 38 and started to put distance between himself and McCroskey.Around lap 60,Williams had a lap by himself but traffic was heavy in front.Charley Hart became a player until lap 69 when started slowing up some.On lap 90,with cars as obstacles,McCroskey began to close in on Williams and was trying to unlap himself and almost did on lap 95,but Williams held on to grab the 1500 to win event.
