Lebanon,Mo-Over 80 Race teams checked into the Opening night at the Midway Speedway and a near capacity crowd on hand on a beautiful Ozarks Night

The Superstock feature found Tony Jackson Jr jumping form his outside front row spot and leading all 15 laps in claiming the opening night win. The battle back for second was a dogfight as veteran JC Newell and Jody Schultz kept the crowd watching for position.Tim Brown and Donnie Gennings rounded out the top 5.

The Modified feature saw Tony Fatino jump to the early lead with former IMCA Nationals winner Wayne Graybeal giving fast chase as Eric Hudson and Jeff Miller were battling for third.

Up front,Fatino and Graybeal were battling door to door until Graybeal moved to the inside on lap 8 as Fatino moved to the top side.As Graybeal opened up a small lead,Hudson and Miller were swapping spots until Miller spun in turn 2.
On the restart Graybeal pulled ahead as Hudson began to apply pressure to Fatino for second as Miller was coming fast.On lap 14,Fatino looped it in turn 2 bringing out the yellow.On the restart,Hudson applied pressure to Graybeal in the last 3 laps,but Graybeal held off the surge in claiming the win followed by Hudson,Jeff Miller,Fatino, and Jimmy Willis in the top 5.

The FactoryStocks saw a strong field take the green with Randy Berry jumping to the early lead with Bobby Ratterre in tow.With Berry setting a fast pace,Brad Gayer made a move to the outside of Ratterre for second while Tim Brown was moving forward from his 6th starting spot.On lap 3,the yellow waved for Willie Wilson in turn 2 and Glen Dismang in turn 3.On the restart,Berry was still seting a fast pace as Gayer was closing quickly and Tim Brown was gaining and moved into 2nd place on lap 5. From there,Berry and Brown put on a great side by side action for the lead.On lap 9,Berry would pull off the pace with problems as 5th place running Ron Myers,6th place Tim Riffle got collected-up in turn 2 taking them out of the action as Brad Gayer headed to the pits with a flat right rear tire.

On the restart,Brown held the ground out in front as Ferrell Manfield had moved into the top 5 coming from 14th and Rocky Bowling was coming also.With the laps winding down and Brown in the lead,Brad Gayer who had restarted 14th was closing up quickly on Brown and catching Brown on lap 13,but at the flags,brown claimed the win followed closely by Gayer,Ratterre,Mansfield, and Rocky Bolton.

The Winged Sprint Cars took the green with Clint Todd grabbing the lead with Joe Todd,Eric Todd,Scott Wedelstadt and JP Compton battling in the top 5.

On lap 6, Gil Johnson who had started 7th,was moving to contend in the top 5 ending-up going upside down while battling Steve Lawrence.Johnston was able to walk away unhurt.

On the restart.Clint Todd checked out from the field as Eric Todd,Joe Todd,and Compton were swapping spots with Wedelstadt rounding out the top 5 as the checkered flew.

The Bombers came out 20 strong with Missy Shaw bringing the field down on the start,but the red waved quickly as Dale Rodden ended up rolling over in turn 3 as Luke Stephens and Carl Weaver also going out.Pole setter Shaw's car stalled ending her night as the field restarted Bill Schoen grabbed the top spot with Justin Stoufer following and Bill Roberts pulling away from the field.Through the battles,rookie driver Mike Warner had worked his way up to the top 5 along with Matt Haynes who was recovering from an early spin.As the leaders were battling,Stouffer made the move to grab the lead on lap 12 with Schoen on his bumper.Going into turn 3,the leaders tangled with Jeff Teeters who ended up rolling over,but walked away unhurt also setting up and dogfight to the finish.On the restart Stouffer smoothly held the low line as Schoen tried several attempts as the checkered waved with Stouffer grabbed the win with Bill Roberts,Brian Monnahan,Micheal Jackson, andKelly Weigle followed as 2nd place Schoen failed tech inspection.

The Mini-Stocks really thrilled the crowd as John Wagner Jr grabbed the early lead with Ike Moore following followed by Leon Fellers,Bryan Deatherage,and Eric Clay coming quickly.While Wagner was holding off repeated challanges from Fellers,Eric Clay and Dave Williams were slicing through the field.On lap 9,Clay powered to the high side to grab the lead as Williams followed through.Out in front,Clay and Williams ran sdie-by-side until lap 13 when Clay broke a rear trailing arm taking him out of the challange.From there Williams took the win followed by Fellers,Wagner Jr.,Ike Moore who recoevered from a rollover in practice, and Deatherage at the stripe.

Next Weekend Midway will run both Friday and Sat Night as friday night will be double points night and The 1st Sat Night Special with a 150 lap Enduro,Extra Money for the Modifieds and FactroyStocks along the the first ever visit by the Legends Cars.

Friday Night starting time is 8PM,while the Sat Special will begin action at 7:30.The Sat Special will paying 600 to win the Modifed Feature with 100 to start and the FactroyStocks will pay 400 to win and 50 to start along with 20 extra bonus points to those classes.The Legends cars feature 34-40 Coupe bodies and are powered by a 1200CC Motor.
