Fairbury reschedules Prairie Dirt Classic on top of I55's Pepsi Nationals

It really is going to make things interesting. I imagine most of those guys will come down to BC for $10k to win the night before. It would be nice to jaunt on over to Pevely the next night, but no one will want someone to cherry pick the $10k up for grabs at Fairbury.

Don't forget that Babb, Feger, Unzicker, Spatola, Heckenast, Shirley, and the others also have a 5K to win feature to run at FALS on the 15th. I don't see any of them heading south after leaving BC.

Looking at the weather map for next weekend forecast I dont think we have to worry about Fairbury. It looks like that part of ILL will be having rain.

ok this i-55 fairbury thing i hate it but that's the way it is but i checked some schedule's and babb, pierce, and heckenest are going to fairbury unzicker, erb, and spatola are coming to pevely shirleyand feger are undecided correction spatola is going to bell-clair and fairburycorrection feger is going to farbury

The drivers that are locked in the $5000 to win will goto fairbury. ****s we probably won't see babb, Shirley, feger, but that will give the locals more chances. Gonna be a good weekend regardless.

I would not count on that.

Here's one for you. Kenny Schrader goes to Fairbury to run his modified at the PDC show. The races get rained out so to "re-pay" him them re-schedule the PDC at the same time that Schraders own track has a WOO race. What a deal! If I was Schrader I would never race there again! There are certainly other alternatives. JMO

Fairbury would probably say they are doing whats best for their own checkbook. I-55 should understand.....that's what they did with those two provisionals at the mars race.

The point is if Fairbury was smart they would run sunday with the WOO guys in the area and them not running sunday they could have made the event a tri track kind of deal added a bonus if a guy won all three events and doubled the car count for his show granted not many locals will travel that way but a few would, but the guys running for a living would run a 5000.00 to win show on a sunday after a 12000.00 and 10000.00 to win and more than a handfull have a shot at all three.

For everyone but the fans, it is still a business whether you are a promoter, driver, owner or sponsor.
You can't believe each group doesn't look at anything but an empty calendar in making their decisions. Each promoter has to look at his particular fan base and other local event situation, while each owner/driver/sponsor has to look at the purse available, his chance at getting the big money, the location of the track in relation to next race or home and the probable condition of his equipment for each race when he sets up his schedule. On top of that all have to look at the probablility of weather conditions. Fans sort of expect racers to have their tongues hanging out just to go to a track when it takes a lot more thought and figuring out their chances of making money or even just covering costs.
We used to throw a lot of concerns into the pot before deciding where to go on any given date, even if there was not a choice of races on a night.
Even fans have to make choices in this economy.
