Friday night brought 28 late models out to do battle at Farmer City Raceway, with Billy Drake turning in fast time at 12.833 seconds in his brand new Rayburn hot rod. Heats were some really great three wide racing with the first heat going to Jr Shickel over Joe Ross Jr, Billy Drake and Michael Bradley. The second heat went to Richie Hedrick over Wes Steidinger with Matt Taylor and Joe Harlan in close tow. The third heat was another exciting event with the win going to Eric Smith over Mike Mullvain, Brian Dively and Derek Chandler. The semi feature went to Todd Bennett over Lisa Shickel, Rod Sandage and Chris Dick, who led until the white flag was flying. The feature event saw front row starter Jr Shickel and Hedrick battle it out early, with Hedrick leading the way all 25 laps. As the race neared halfway, Wes Steidinger worked his way into second place to do battle with Hedrick. Joe Ross Jr enjoyed his run near the front, and decided to go after Hedrick himself through the heavy traffic. With no cautions, Hedrick masterfully worked his way through traffic, leaving Ross little chance to make a pass. Hedrick won, with Ross Jr second and Steidinger and Eric Smith close behind.
